Acupuncture. What is acupuncture? What is irt 10

Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBRT) is a viral acute disease, due to the wide prevalence- refers to the most economically significant. The pathological process most often involves the respiratory organs and the reproductive system, it is accompanied by general depression, fever. In sick animals, conjunctivitis develops, in adult cattle, manifestations of balanoposthitis and pustular vulvovaginitis are possible. During pregnancy, viral infection leads to death and abortion of the fetus.

The disease is highly contagious and when the first cases of RTI are detected, quarantine is immediately introduced and relevant restrictive measures , the treatment of affected and immunization of healthy animals is carried out .

The causative agent of the disease is the bovine herpes DNA genomic virus from the herpesvirus family. To date, the existence of two strains of the virus has been precisely established: herpesvirus 1.1 and herpesvirus 1.2. The first subtype affects the respiratory organs, rarely - reproductive organs, the second subtype causes the genital form of the disease. To date, the existence of another subtype of the RTI virus has been proven, however, some of its features give rise to the isolation of the pathogen into another type.

The RTI virus is quite resistant to environmental conditions. At 22 degrees, it retains virulence for 45 days, up to 7 months at a temperature of +4 degrees. Deep freezing does not affect the activity of the virus, infectious titer indicators are stable for 7-9 months. When heated above 56 degrees, it is inactivated within 7-20 minutes. The virus is inactivated by treatment with bleach, 2% formalin solution or sodium hydroxide.

The disease is often complicated by concomitant infections of a viral or bacterial nature.

Epizotology

IRT develops in cattle, regardless of breed, direction of productivity, sex and age. It is known that in dairy cattle the disease proceeds in a milder form than in meat cattle. The disease is species-specific, however, cases of the genital form of the disease in bison are known, a latent course is possible in pigs, buffaloes and small cattle. Extremely rare cases of human infection are also known.

Preservation in nature is possible in some wild ungulates and ticks.

The virus poses the greatest danger for calves up to 2 months old, especially severe forms of the course are often observed in young animals on feedlots. The source of the spread of infection are animals with a clinical form of IRT and latent carriers of the virus. After recovery, the virus continues to be shed for another 9-12 months. Potentially dangerous are all pathological and physiological excretions of animals. Among the most dangerous sources of infection are sires that have had a genital form of RTI, since the virus long time excreted with semen.

Animals that have been ill for life are virus carriers, the likelihood of re-development of the clinical form always exists. Relapse can be caused by immunodeficiency against the background of infectious diseases, depression of immunity due to stress. Among the most significant stresses are considered calving, transportation of animals, injuries, abrupt changes in the quality of the diet.

In livestock complexes, RTI outbreaks occur periodically, mainly in autumn or winter, in prefabricated groups of young animals on the 5-7th day after delivery. In the focus of the outbreak, the disease affects the entire livestock, the loss of animals is about 20%.

The virus can be transmitted by alimentary, respiratory, sexual contact, as well as through any other direct contact of sick animals with healthy ones. Infection occurs:

  • by airborne droplets;
  • through feed;
  • through blood-sucking insects;
  • with direct contact of animals;
  • during insemination, regardless of the method;
  • through milk;
  • through the placental barrier;
  • through any farm equipment with which animals come into direct or indirect contact, as well as veterinary instruments.

Economic damage

The respiratory and genital forms of the disease have long been considered as completely different pathological processes that have nothing in common. Later it was found that the lesions of the respiratory organs (actually RTI) and pustular vulvovaginitis are different forms of manifestation of a viral infection.

The economic damage from RTI outbreaks consists of:

Pathogenesis

The most common routes of infection are aerogenic and sexual. Once on the mucous membranes, the virus invades the epithelial cells and begins to multiply rapidly. In the lesions, a primary local reaction develops in the form of acute inflammation and rejection of the affected tissues.

As the disease progresses, the inflammatory process leads to tissue necrosis. Through the nasolacrimal canal, the virus enters the conjunctiva, animals develop keratitis, conjunctivitis, and sometimes panophthalmitis. When the herpes virus enters the brain, meningoencephalitis develops.

The defeat of the genital organs in sires is accompanied by the penetration of the virus into the semen. The genetic material of the sick male is unsuitable for insemination. In cows who become ill during pregnancy, the virus often leads to abortion of the fetus, vaginitis and endometritis. Heifers are especially vulnerable. Among the consequences of the disease are difficulties with subsequent insemination.

Course and symptoms

In addition to the respiratory and genital localization of the pathological process, other forms of lesions can be observed: nervous, enteral, abortive, enteral, articular, skin, dental. Depending on the prevailing symptoms, five clinical forms of the disease are distinguished, and isolated syndromes of damage to the eyes, joints, and brain are rare.

The first symptoms of the disease appear 2-10 days after infection. In a sick animal, the temperature rises sharply, sensitivity becomes dull, breathing quickens. The animal is in a depressed state. Mucous discharges from the nose appear, at first light, as the disease progresses - purulent. In the affected areas, fibrous formations are formed after the removal of which ulcers are exposed.

Respiratory forms of the disease affect mainly calves and young animals of both sexes, less often adult cattle. In the neonatal period, the RTI virus causes bronchopneumonia, the disease is accompanied by digestive disorders (diarrhea), and occasionally arthritis. Possible complications in the form of keratoconjunctivitis, meningoencephalitis.

Among the most characteristic symptoms of the respiratory form of the course:

  • catarrhal discharge from the nose;
  • hyperemia of the mucous membranes of the nasopharynx;
  • cough;
  • secretion of frothy saliva.

When the lungs are involved in the pathological process, bronchopneumonia develops with pronounced necrotic changes, blockage of bronchi of various calibers, asphyxia, and death are possible. Case - up to 20%. The respiratory form of the disease is the most severe; complications often develop against the background of damage to the respiratory system.

Young animals may develop encephalitis before the age of 6 months. Affected calves can become aggressive, overexcited, later convulsions, tremors in the muscles, depression, incoordination, paralysis appear. Some animals get depressed.

In adult sexually mature animals, IPV develops, the genital form of herpes virus infection. This form of infection can be hidden. With a clinically pronounced course, the mucous membranes of the vagina become inflamed with manifestations of a nodular rash. The elements of the rash turn into pustules, in place of which there are areas of erosion and ulcerative lesions.

Infectious pustular vaginitis in a cow

In bulls, the genital form proceeds according to the type of balanoposthitis with manifestations of a nodular pink-red rash. The size of the elements of the rash is up to the size of a pinhead. With the defeat of the reproductive system, the sexual cycle is disturbed, long-term infertility is observed.

Rare manifestations of the disease

Skin lesions are more common in bulls. The pathological process involves the perianal region, perineum, skin at the root of the tail, on the scrotum and buttocks. In places of damage, the hair becomes very thin up to complete baldness, an eczema-like rash appears. The cutaneous form of the disease can be combined with the genital one.

During pregnancy, the virus crosses the placental barrier. intrauterine infection in early dates ends with the death of the embryo, in the later stages - with the death of the fetus, spontaneous abortion, stillbirth.

Sometimes cows develop acute mastitis. Surviving calves are severely weakened and die within a few days after birth. It is known that animals that have previously had a disease in any other form are more prone to abortion. Due to complications after an abortion, a fatal outcome is possible.

pathological anatomy

Pathological anatomical examination of animals slaughtered for the purpose of diagnosis or died from RTI reveals characteristic changes typical for the form of the disease and the severity of the course. In the absence of concomitant diseases, they find:

In severe and malignant cases, autopsy reveals foci of necrosis on the mucous membranes, lobar pneumonia, conjunctival ulceration, pulmonary edema, and hemorrhages under the epicardium.

In the genital form of the disease, inflammatory processes in the vagina are detected. The mucous membranes are hyperemic, they show a pustular rash and necrotic areas. Pathologies of the uterus are less common, mainly after intrauterine death of the fetus with its subsequent decomposition. Pus accumulates in the horns of the uterus, decomposed remains of the fetus are found.

Laboratory research

The final confirmation of the diagnosis is possible after laboratory tests. For laboratory samples take:

  • mucous secretions of sick animals with a clinically pronounced form of the disease;
  • blood serum;
  • fragments of tissues of the trachea, lymph nodes, parenchymal organs of dead or slaughtered animals;
  • abortive material.

In the genital and respiratory forms, samples of eye and genital secretions, as well as nasal discharges, are collected until pus appears in them. Use clean foam or cotton-gauze swabs to collect samples.

Blood sampling is performed twice: within 48 hours from the moment of manifestation of the first clinical signs of the disease and after 2-3 weeks.

From the material provided to the laboratory, the pathogen is isolated and identified. Determination of the nature of the pathogen is carried out in the reactions of neutralization, immunofluorescence, polymerase chain reaction.

At the same time, differential diagnosis is carried out with parainfluenza-3, respiratory syncytial infection, adenovirus infection, pasteurellosis, chlamydia and some other infections.

The diagnosis is considered confirmed if at least one of the applied methods gave a positive result in determining the antigen or isolated virus. A positive result is also the detection of an increase in antibody titer by 4 times in the study of paired blood sera.

Treatment

For therapeutic purposes, hyperimmune sera obtained from the blood serum of recovered animals are used. The most effective and easy to implement method of administration is aerosol. In this case, the serum enters directly on the affected mucous membranes of the respiratory system. Spraying aerosols is the best solution when you need to treat a large number of livestock. Perhaps parenteral administration of sera, but this method is more laborious.

For the treatment and complex prevention of viral diseases in cattle, Albuvir and Endovirase preparations can be recommended.

For the purpose of prevention, Albuvir is given two days in a row at the rate of 0.03 ml of a 10% solution per kilogram of live weight. For an adult livestock, it is enough to feed once a month, young animals are fed twice a month with an interval of 10-12 days. For therapeutic purposes, the dosage is doubled, the drug is given for 5-7 days in a row.

"Endovirase" - an antiviral drug for external use

"Endovirase" is used as a spray for inhalation or direct injection into the nasal passages. The drug is sprayed once a day. Treatment will require 4-5 applications with an interval of 1 to 3 days.

Symptomatic and restorative treatment is carried out, animals are given drugs against secondary infections. Ditrim, Nitox 200, Tetracycline are used to suppress concomitant bacterial infections.

Ditrim

Sick animals are prescribed a course of treatment, including expectorant and bronchodilator drugs, sputum thinners. With a group method of treatment, it is recommended to spray aerosols of sodium bicarbonate, eucalyptus, turpentine. In individual therapy, pepsin or trypsin preparations are administered tracheally.

Immunity

After the illness, animals develop temporary immunity, resistance to the virus persists for about 5.5 years. Immunization after the genital form of herpes infection is short-term, animals can get sick again.

Antibodies can be transmitted to calves through colostrum, and young animals develop colostral immunity. For this reason, vaccination of calves under 4 months of age is ineffective and is recommended to be carried out a little later.

Therapeutic and prophylactic serum is produced from the blood of animals that have undergone the clinical form of the disease. Donor blood is taken in vivo or after slaughter.

Live and inactivated vaccines are used for immunization. Live vaccines are prepared from attenuated virus cultures obtained after multiple passages in cell culture. In many countries of the world, live vaccines are not used; in practice, only an inactivated vaccine is used, which provides stable immunization for up to 6 months.

Preventive measures

After the illness, livestock develops stable immunity. In this case, the animal often remains potentially dangerous and releases the pathogen into environment within 6-9 months. All animals in which antibodies to bovine herpesvirus are detected are classified as sick.

To prevent infection, complex vaccines are used, which provide resistance to RTI during the year. Previously, animals must receive polyvalent serum.

Measures to eliminate the disease

To date, infectious rhinotracheitis has been eliminated in a number of EU countries. This has been achieved in Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden.

In these countries, there are quite strict rules for monitoring the condition of animals. In all livestock farms, the study of combined samples of milk and blood serum is regularly carried out. All seropositive animals are culled, and appropriate restrictions are imposed on the farm.

Disease control and prevention is a sequence of actions to prevent the introduction of the virus into the herd, aimed at eliminating outbreaks of the disease and stopping the further spread of the virus.

To this end, the following security measures are taken:

Quarantine regime

Farms where an outbreak of the disease occurred are recognized as unfavorable. From this moment, some restrictive measures come into force, in particular, any regrouping of animals, as well as the export and import of livestock. Export of fodder, dairy products and animal care products is allowed only after preliminary disinfection. The elimination of the outbreak is carried out as follows:

  1. All animals with clinical disease should be isolated for treatment.
  2. Healthy livestock should be vaccinated immediately.
  3. All inventory and premises are subject to disinfection.
  4. Animal corpses and parts of carcasses with signs of tissue necrosis are subject to technical disposal.

The staff of the isolator must receive appropriate training in the rules of animal care and safety. All workers must be provided with appropriate overalls and safety shoes. The isolation room, bedding, manure, care items, personnel overalls must be disinfected.

The meat of slaughtered animals without signs of pathological changes is sent for sale without any restrictions. The same is done with the milk of clinically healthy animals. The milk of cows with a clinically pronounced course of RTI should be pre-pasteurized.

In stationary dysfunctional farms, vaccines are used constantly. Bulls diagnosed with IRT are subject to culling, regardless of their value. Insemination of heifers and cows is carried out only by the rectocervical method.

Restrictions are removed no earlier than one month after the last laboratory-confirmed case of clinical recovery. Before the lifting of restrictive measures, final disinfection is carried out.

Measures aimed at breaking the epizootic chain are quite effective, especially those taken in combination. These include:

  • content in summer camps;
  • long-term sanitation of premises;
  • transfer of the maternity ward to another room;
  • individual maintenance of calves.

Of great importance is the constant monitoring of the health status of breeding and commercial livestock, as well as the timely treatment of any infectious diseases of livestock.

The impact on special (accupuncture) points with a needle or a lit wormwood stick is the main therapeutic principle of IRT.

A person is a complex physico-chemical system, each organ, each system has projection points (acupuncture points) on the body, influencing which the organ or system is affected. There are acupuncture points throughout the body, but most of them are concentrated on the auricles, palms and feet.

Contraindications

Unlike From traditional allopathic medicine, which focuses on taking pharmacological preparations, the method of acupuncture has no contraindications and side effects.

Of particular note is the fact that acupuncture can cure a number of diseases that are still considered incurable. in allopathic medicine.

Acupuncture - traditional method of treatment in eastern countries. However, the best treatment effect is achieved if acupuncture is combined with other types of treatment (homeopathy, etc.).

Acupuncture restores both the physical state and the mental state of any person. There are no gender or age restrictions for the use of this type of therapy. Sessions are carried out using disposable needles or a set of needles of the patient himself, which are disinfected after each session.

What can be cured with acupuncture?

Treatment with needle pricks is a very effective method that has proven to be one of the most painless and safe. The range of diseases from which acupuncture can relieve the most extensive: impact on bioactive acupuncture points improves the activity of all systems in the human body, any pathological processes occurring in tissues and organs are normalized on the functional level and in the early stages of development.

With the help of acupuncture, diseases such as vegetovascular dystonia, allergies, asthenic syndrome, sleep disorders, enuresis and various phobias are highly effectively treated. Significant improvement in the condition of people using drugs and alcohol. Directly from drug addiction and alcoholism, acupuncture does not cure, but it significantly helps in the process of rehabilitation of such patients.

Attention!

Acupuncture sessions should be conducted by a specialist, a doctor who has undergone special training, because acupuncture points are very small (area of about 0.2 sq. mm) and very often located close to each other, exposure to the wrong point can cause deterioration and exacerbation of diseases. The number of sessions and the time spent under the influence of needles is prescribed by the doctor, depending on the complexity of the disease and the age of the patient.

As a result of professionally conducted sessions of acupuncture, the general condition of the patient is normalized, a feeling of peace of mind and tranquility arises.

In addition, acupuncture can seriously harm your health if the procedure is not performed by a qualified specialist. It is very important to know where to insert needles so as not to damage the nerve endings, it is also important to properly treat the skin, use sterile needles to prevent infections. Safe acupuncture if the indications and contraindications have been studied by the attending physician.

Definition

Acupuncture is a procedure in which a specialist inserts thin needles into the necessary points on the human body in order to stimulate their reflexes. The procedure came to us from oriental medicine, back in ancient China, the technique was used to restore harmony in the body and treat diseases.

So in ancient times it was believed that acupuncture helps to cleanse the human aura, normalizes the movement of vital energy. In our time, the method has been well studied and it has been proven that the effect of the procedure on reflex points really helps to strengthen the body, activate vital processes.

Acupuncture has been recognized as an effective physiotherapy method. In polyclinics, rooms were opened where acupuncture is carried out. Also, on the basis of large clinics, entire departments were created, where they study and carry out such a procedure for the recovery of patients.

Indications

The indication for acupuncture is a huge variety of different pathologies, the procedure is prescribed even in childhood if necessary:

  • Various pathologies of the musculoskeletal system - it can be osteochondrosis, arthritis, arthrosis, scoliosis, bursitis, myositis;
  • Problems with the endocrine system: diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism;
  • Obesity;
  • Smoking, alcoholism;
  • Lung problems, for example: bronchitis, pneumonia;
  • Pathologies nervous system, for example: neuritis, sciatica, tic, hysteria;
  • Problems with the gastrointestinal tract, for example: constipation, ulcers, nausea;
  • Diseases of the genitourinary system in men, for example: cystitis, prostatitis;
  • Gynecological pathologies in women, for example: infertility, problems with the menstrual cycle;
  • vision problems, such as strabismus;
  • Allergic and skin diseases, for example: urticaria, psoriasis, eczema.

To determine exactly whether you need to visit acupuncture in the presence of a particular disease, you must first consult with your doctor. Any method of physiotherapy is not a panacea, and is used only in combination on the recommendation of a specialist. Self-administration of acupuncture can lead to grave consequences, disability, and sometimes even death, in the absence of complex therapy.

Contraindications

It should be understood that acupuncture is a serious intervention in the body. This procedure has a number of serious contraindications:

  • Children's age up to 3 years. This is due to the peculiarity of the formation of a small organism, the skin of babies is very thin and can be easily injured with long needles. internal organs.
  • Pregnancy with pathologies. Acupuncture is allowed only if the pregnancy proceeds without complications, since acupuncture can cause uterine hypertonicity and premature birth. In addition, it is not recommended to carry out the procedure for the first time during pregnancy.
  • Infectious diseases, such as HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis, purulent infections. In this case, acupuncture is categorically contraindicated, since the infection can spread throughout the body and cause serious complications.
  • Fear of needles. Acupuncture is allowed only for those people who can endure the entire procedure without straining, for this it is necessary at least not to be afraid of needles, and also to trust the specialist and believe in the effectiveness of the method.
  • Pathology of the circulatory system. In this case, acupuncture can worsen the condition.
  • Mental disorders. Acupuncture affects the nerve bundles, which is a little stress for the body. At mental disorders a sharp deterioration in the patient's condition is possible. This is dangerous for both the specialist and the patient himself.
  • Oncological pathologies. In this case, acupuncture can only do harm.
  • Severe pain, preoperative condition. If the pain appeared for an unknown reason, or is associated with appendicitis, cyst rupture, severe inflammation, then acupuncture is contraindicated. In this case, you should immediately consult a doctor.

It is worth noting that the procedure is not carried out if the patient came to her in alcoholic or drug intoxication. In this case, the person behaves not quite adequately, he can harm himself and the specialist.

In addition, acupuncture is not recommended for very old people, patients with malnutrition or muscular dystrophy, with polio, varicose veins, after strokes. Despite the fact that pregnancy in general is not a contraindication, if there is no pathology, acupuncture is still not recommended.

The doctor may refuse the procedure if there are moles, any rashes, wounds, scars at the injection site of the needle. For children under 7 years of age, acupuncture is not recommended in the face area, as there is a risk of damage to the facial nerve or eyeball if the child moves carelessly.

In addition, in childhood, acupuncture is generally not recommended, as children are afraid of needles and cannot relax and endure the entire procedure calmly. And violent treatment can only lead to injuries and complications, such actions do not bode well.

Methodology

In the office of acupuncture, everything should be equipped specifically to calm the patient. Each person must be in a separate room or in a specially equipped booth. Against the background, calm music is often included, incense, essential oils can be used. This is necessary so that the patient calms down, relaxes, then the procedure will be as effective as possible.

Procedure needles

The patient undresses and lies down on a hard couch, which was previously covered with a clean sheet. Then the doctor treats the skin and their hands with an antiseptic lotion to prevent infection from getting under the skin. The needles used during the procedure are disposable, sterile.

The specialist inserts the needles with gentle movements or with the help of a special device at the points prescribed by the doctor. The location and number of acupuncture points depends on the diagnosis and the desired effect, but usually no more than 10 needles are used per session.

Next, the patient is left to lie with the needles for minutes, and at the end of the procedure, the doctor removes them and disposes of them, and treats the skin with an antiseptic. Acupuncture is carried out in courses of procedures that are performed every day without a break.

As a rule, the procedure does not cause pain to patients, the needles used are very thin, so the punctures are generally not painful. During the procedure, you may feel a slight burning sensation, pressure in the affected area, this is normal. After removing the needles, all discomfort disappears, and with them the pain.

Action

There are many different theories that talk about the principle of action of acupuncture. Modern medicine accepts only reflex mechanisms. This means that when the nerve bundles are irritated with needles, a reflex reaction of the brain occurs, in which pain sensations are blocked.

Thus, the needle has the following effects, hitting the desired point:

  • Activates blood circulation and nerve conduction of tissues. Through the necessary point, the part of the brain that is responsible for the desired part of the body is stimulated. As a result, blood circulation, fluid outflow, and nerve conduction are normalized. As a result, recovery comes faster.
  • Relieves pain. The brain constantly receives various impulses that are responsible for our sensations, for pain. They pass through different fibers, so pain impulses take longer than nerve impulses. By irritating the nerve bundles, the needle causes them to actively send nerve impulses to the brain, which activate neurons that block pain sensations at the site of impact.
  • The general condition improves. Stimulation of nerve bundles in acupuncture points provokes relaxation of the body, improvement of mood. Many patients feel rested and satisfied after the procedure.

As a result, after acupuncture, metabolism normalizes, tissues are well nourished, swelling and pain disappear. In addition, acupuncture activates all body systems, contributes to the normalization of hormonal levels, the endocrine system, and helps to strengthen general immunity.

Side effects

Acupuncture is a really useful and effective physiotherapeutic method, but only if it is carried out taking into account all the rules and in the absence of contraindications. Otherwise, the following complications may occur.

  • Skin infections due to improper treatment of the skin and hands of a specialist, as well as when using non-sterile needles.
  • Pain and small hematomas in the affected area, if the specialist damaged the capillary;
  • Tissue damage, if the procedure was carried out by an unqualified specialist, the needles were inserted in the wrong place, and not to the depth that was needed.
  • The transition of a mole into a malignant form, if a specialist pierced it with a needle during the procedure;
  • Dizziness, low blood pressure, fainting and weakness - this may be due to the stress of the procedure, with a fear of needles.

To avoid side effects, it is necessary to visit the procedure only in specialized clinics, in no case should you turn to dubious healers, even through acquaintances. It is also not recommended to conduct experiments on yourself and go for acupuncture if there are contraindications, such treatment, at best, will be useless, and at worst, life-threatening.

Reflexology (IRT)

Acupuncture (IRT) is a method of influencing the human body with very thin steel needles for medicinal purposes and to relieve pain symptoms in a number of diseases. There are several different options for the name of acupuncture - acupuncture, acupuncture, reflexology, acupuncture. The original Chinese term is often used - zhen-jiu (pricking, cauterization). "Zhen-jiu therapy" appeared in the USSR at the end of the last century, this name is well known to the older generation.

China is considered the birthplace of acupuncture, where the method is classified as traditional medicine and is considered scientifically sound. The essence of the technique is in the irritating effect on special points on the human body located on the meridians, along which the so-called Vital energy"qi".

Modern Western medicine is skeptical about acupuncture, considering the placebo effect to be the reason for the success of the method, however, experimental data show that with the help of IRT, one can not only facilitate the healing process by relieving unpleasant symptoms such as pain, nausea, etc., but also achieve complete cure of numerous diseases.

WHAT DISEASES DOES ACUCUNE TREATMENT

Diseases of the endocrine system

Metabolic disorders

Diseases of the cardiovascular system

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract

Diseases of the liver and kidneys

Diseases of the pancreas

Diseases of the genitourinary system

Vegetovascular dystonia (VVD)

Atherosclerosis, endarteritis, rheumatic vasculitis

Dyskinesia of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract

Diseases of the musculoskeletal system (scoliosis, osteochondrosis, etc.)

Acupuncture is effective in the recovery period after various diseases, in particular after strokes (improves tissue trophism, normalizes muscle activity in post-stroke paralysis), when recovering from injuries or fractures (promotes accelerated bone formation), with back and neck pain, pain in joints, headaches - the method effectively relieves pain by improving blood circulation and irritation of nerve endings in the affected area, which entails the activation of the body's reserves to fight the disease on its own.

HOW DOES AN ACUPUNCTURE SESSION GO

In the clinic "Restorative Medicine" a session of acupuncture begins with an examination and questioning of the patient. The doctor determines the area of influence and decides with which points it is necessary to work.

The patient is placed on a special table, after which the desired area of the skin is treated with an antiseptic and the acupuncture procedure begins directly - the doctor inserts special thinnest steel needles to the required depth. The technique of introducing needles can be different: one or more needles at the same time, slowly or quickly, deeply or superficially - all this is also at the discretion of the acupuncturist.

Depending on the problem, an IRT session can last from 15 to 45 minutes. The course of treatment is about 12 sessions.

HOW PAINFUL IS THE ACUPUNCTURE PROCEDURE

The discomfort experienced by the patient during acupuncture treatment is comparable to a slight burning sensation or itching - there should not be strong pain during the normal course of the procedure. Soreness during an acupuncture session depends on various factors, including the degree and severity of the disease, the duration of the disease, and, of course, the skill of the reflexologist. Our clinic employs specialists with many years of practice, so we try to minimize the risk of pain during the procedure.

CONTRAINDICATIONS TO ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT

Usually the procedure of acupuncture treatment is completely safe and practically painless, but there are still contraindications to the use of the method. Most often, these are serious diseases that require urgent measures and emergency treatment, such as cancer, decompensation of chronic heart or lung diseases, :

Tumors of any nature and any localization

Acute infectious diseases

Chronic infections in the acute stage

Infant and senile age (over 75 years old)

Organic diseases of the heart and kidneys

Acute pain syndromes of unknown origin

second half of pregnancy

Condition after heavy physical exertion

Acupuncture, contraindications and indications

Today we will talk about another Chinese way to make fun of yourself, and at the same time to heal - about acupuncture.

A bit about the history of acupuncture

Acupuncture, as a kind of acupuncture, came with us from the East. The impact on the body occurs in biologically active points. These zones are stimulated with the help of special sterile acupuncture needles made of silver or steel, cauterization, acupressure.

We have already talked about acupressure in some detail when we analyzed acupressure for a cold and first aid for a toothache. Yes, and many other types of massage described in the category "massage" on the site alter-zdrav.ru (ears, eye sockets) are close to point.

It is in the traditions of Eastern medicine to see a person in the totality of his manifestations, as a whole, and not as a set of organs, which is considered even by individual doctors in Western and, unfortunately, Russian medical practice. In a healthy person, Yin and Yang (opposite principles) are in balance, and the disease itself is considered as a way out of balance.

The task of acupuncture is to achieve harmony in the patient's body, to balance the manifestations of Yin and Yang, to release a free flow of energy along the meridians. There is a multi-stage reflex reaction, during which the body is self-healing. And therefore the slogan "acupuncture for everyone" is suitable only for slightly advanced stages of diseases, when there are still no degenerative changes in the organs.

Of course, like all methods, acupuncture has its contraindications.

Contraindications for acupuncture

  • oncology
  • mental illness
  • active tuberculosis
  • acute infectious diseases
  • myocardial infarction
  • acute poisoning
  • withdrawal syndrome (with prolonged drinking or drug addiction)
  • exhaustion (anorexia)
  • second half pregnancy
  • infancy
  • acute pain of unknown origin

This method is able to have a powerful effect on the entire body as a whole, launch the protective reserves of a person, normalize hormonal levels, metabolic processes, increase immunity, have a sedative (calming) and relaxing effect.

What is the best treatment for acupuncture?

  1. Diseases of the peripheral nervous system (plexitis, neuralgia, radiculitis, sciatica)
  2. Neuroses, neurasthenia, tics
  3. Vegetovascular disorders, both with an increase and a decrease in blood pressure.
  4. Endocrine disorders (with menopause, hormonal surges, the initial stages of disorders of the thyroid and pancreas)
  5. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system, joints, spine
  6. Allergic conditions (bronchial asthma, neurodermatitis, eczema)
  7. Migraines of various origins

Acupuncture is a slightly more painful method, at the point during the insertion of the needle (needles are very thin - 0.3 mm in diameter, but long from 3 to 12 cm), aches, heaviness, bursting, numbness are felt. To reduce pain during the introduction, special techniques are used (vibration, rotation). Each course has procedures.

As you understand from all of the above, you cannot do such a procedure on your own, only a doctor with a certificate in acupuncture can do it. At one time I worked in close contact with such a doctor, so she constantly went to refresher courses, diplomas and a certificate in various methods, she had at least a dozen ... An enthusiastic aunt! But her results were impressive, practically hopeless, according to official medicine, she put on her feet. Patients followed her in droves ...

As for the substitute for acupuncture at home, I think an excellent choice would be to use the Kuznetsov applicator. Learn more about this wonderful self-massage device here.

It also acts on biologically active points with thin needle plates, improves blood circulation, relieves pain in the spine and spasmodic muscles, helps to relax and activate the body's defenses.

Applicator (Ipplicator) Kuznetsova - one of my favorite self-help tools, he helped me more than once. I use them regularly. And if not everyone can afford a course of acupuncture in an acupuncture clinic for economic reasons, then everyone can buy such a “Nanai thing” for 200 rubles.

Interesting. But the specialist must manipulate the needles. But Kuznetsov's applicator and I use it periodically.

Naturally. I did not write that I urge you to put them on your own. Of course, you need to know these points very well, and if in the case of acupressure I do it myself without any problems and get results, then only a specialist puts the needles. And better, with experience.

Hello. check your data for contraindications of acupuncture. they are no longer there. maybe only in Europe and America remained. there is only "not recommended" for malignant tumors. and applicators such as Kuznetsov in no way replace acupuncture. these are two different ways - applicators are superficial reflexology. it does not work with points and channels. mechanisms of influence are fundamentally different. but I use the applicator myself, only with metal needles, because it’s nice to lie down and I won’t put needles on my back)

Yes, I actually didn’t write that applicators and acupuncture are one and the same, applicators are a kind of crutch for those who cannot afford a full impact with needles. As for contraindications, you may be right, but sometimes it's better to overdo it than not do it. However, everyone decides for himself.

I want to try this method of treatment, but the problem is that I live in a small town, and you can’t run into the regional center.

I lived for a long time Far East, went to be treated by a Chinese who practiced setting needles, as I was pleased. He put me on my feet in 2 weeks, but the doctors practically sentenced me to disability.

Egor, good afternoon! Do you still have the coordinates of a Chinese acupuncturist?! We really need a qualified specialist!

If you don’t do anything for years, and then on one Monday you start all at once - do exercises, go on a diet, start leading healthy lifestyle life, I can upset .. For a long time you will not be enough. 97% of all beginners give up this “failed” activity by the end of the week. Everything is too sharp, too much, too scary .. Change everything ..

But you and I will not be globalists doomed to failure, we will take care of our health little by little, but every day.

Let's get healthier, shall we? Not tomorrow.. Not from Monday.. But here.. And now!

Acupuncture for cervical osteochondrosis

Acupuncture, as one of the methods of treating osteochondrosis, has been officially used for about several decades. The origin of the method comes from China, where it has been used for several thousand years and has rich practical experience. You can read more about the origin and effect of this treatment on the human body, as well as the benefits, harms and contraindications in this article.

The use of acupuncture for osteochondrosis

Currently, in official medicine, reflexotherapy methods are often used, which is based on the impact on biologically active points of the body, otherwise called acupuncture points (AT). By acting on these points, a specialist can influence the functioning of the body - its internal organs and tissues, can reduce pain, inflammation, fever, increase or decrease the secretory function of organs, restoring their functionality, etc.

There are a number of methods for influencing acupuncture points - cauterization, acupuncture, hardware effects (laser puncture, electropuncture), acupressure and others. Nevertheless, the main method used when influencing the points is acupuncture (acupuncture - IRT). Note that with this method, hardware can be used to enhance the effect in the form of the use of microcurrents, which are supplied through needles inserted into the body.

Keep in mind that the acupuncture procedure should be carried out only by a reflexologist who has a basic medical education in neurology, who can individually select the formulation of active points for each individual case. During treatment, the doctor can change the recipe, focusing on the patient's condition. If you go to a professional, the treatment will be very effective, so it's worth checking with a specialist before going to them.

Treatment of osteochondrosis with acupuncture - what results can be expected?

Acupuncture for osteochondrosis of the cervical spine with severe pain in the acute stage can relieve pain or at least significantly reduce it. This effect is achieved due to the removal of puffiness of the pinched nerve and surrounding tissues. To obtain the best result, it is necessary to carry out RRI daily, this intensity can eliminate exacerbations without the use of medical treatments.

In the acute stage, acupuncture for osteochondrosis very well helps to relieve pain and spasm of the muscles of the cervical region, and also contributes to the speedy disappearance of symptoms. IRT works very well in the treatment of other parts of the spine with osteochondrosis.

In the stage of remission, IRT solves another problem - it stimulates blood circulation in the problem area, causing an influx of oxygen and arterial blood, which in turn leads to stimulation metabolic processes and slows down the progression of osteochondrosis, which causes the process of destruction of interarticular discs. It also simultaneously eliminates pain in the heart - symptoms of vegetative-vascular dystonia, jumps in blood pressure, palpitations, and also eliminates bouts of pain in the right hypochondrium if they are caused as a result of cervical osteochondrosis.

To suppress the progression of the disease, it is necessary to conduct several courses of treatment, the frequency and duration of which will be determined by the reflexologist. Acupuncture can slow down the progression of the disease for a long period. However, even in China they have not learned how to restore destroyed intervertebral discs, and therefore a complete cure is not possible. And if the attending physician assures you that this is possible, you should doubt his qualifications.

Features of the procedure

When performing an acupuncture session for cervical osteochondrosis, special needles are used, thin and sharp, which are inserted into special points. The procedure can be carried out both manually and using a special apparatus, with the help of which additional stimulation of AT is carried out by means of low-frequency currents. This can increase the body's energy circulation and help balance it. We use sterile stainless steel needles.

Thus, the use of acupuncture can relieve pain in case of pinched nerve roots or sciatica, so IRT is often used as an anti-inflammatory analgesic. The application of the method practically does not cause side effects, as drug treatment, besides, he has almost no serious contraindications. In the case of treatment by an experienced specialist, it is very effective and almost painless.

It is believed that IRT in the treatment of osteochondrosis is the most benign option. And it has proven itself to be very effective, the reviews about the effectiveness are very impressive. And there are practically no people who would not feel improvements in their health after the sessions.

The cost of the procedure varies approximately from 1500 to 4000 rubles for each session.

Contraindications and side effects

IRT sessions have the following contraindications:

  • in the presence of malignant and benign tumors. The procedure can promote their growth
  • if systemic skin diseases are present
  • in infectious diseases
  • when exhausted
  • during pregnancy and menstrual cycles
  • in the presence of mental illness

The manifestation of a side effect during IRT can be expressed in the form of a sharp decrease in blood pressure, which in turn can cause darkening in the eyes and dizziness. In case of manifestation of discomfort and side effects, you should immediately report them to the reflexologist, who can quickly remove them by acting on another point. Quite rarely, side effects occur as a result of the introduction of needles into the body - these are hematomas, if they enter a blood vessel, infection of the wound and fracture of the needle.

In case of increased pain during the treatment of osteochondrosis, it is necessary to notify the doctor - this will be a signal for him to adjust the treatment formulation.

What to do before an IRT session

Before conducting an IRT session, you must do the following:

  • visit the toilet
  • eat at least two hours before the procedure
  • it is advisable to rest before the session for minutes

Immediately before the IRT session, the following actions should not be performed:

  • make injections of any kind
  • drink alcohol
  • engage in strenuous physical activity

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture (ARI) or simply, acupuncture is one of the most ancient methods of treatment, known for over two thousand years.

With the help of acupuncture, diseases such as vegetovascular dystonia, allergies, asthenic syndrome, sleep disorders, enuresis and various phobias are highly effectively treated. The condition of people who use drugs and alcohol improves significantly. Directly from drug addiction and alcoholism, acupuncture does not cure, but it significantly helps in the process of rehabilitation of such patients.

Acupuncture - "FOR" and "AGAINST", pluses and minuses.

I receive letters on the site and by e-mail with questions related to acupuncture (Acupuncture Reflex Therapy - IRT) - the introduction of needles into biologically active points (BAP).

Some write that they used this type of treatment for disorders in the musculoskeletal system and the presence of various pain symptoms, but it did not help them.

Others are interested in the meaning of certain meridians associated with internal organs and the influence of these organs on various parts of the body, for example, “does gallbladder pathology really affect the state of the joints, causing, for example, arthritis of the knee joint”?

It is not possible to give an unambiguous answer to these questions. Only through a detailed explanation outlining all the pros and cons of acupuncture can the reader be given the opportunity to understand the intricacies of this treatment method, and decide for themselves whether to use it or not.

Typing the word “reflexology” on the Internet, in the first place I see: “Acupuncture - Wikipedia”, where it is not about restoring or changing reflexes, as such, but only about the application of the Chinese method of Zhen-Jiu - treatment by acupuncture or acupuncture. In my opinion, this is a substitution of concepts. Reflexology, as a direction in medicine, is much larger and cannot be limited to acupuncture alone. They try to convince us that acupuncture can solve all problems, giving such a list of symptoms and syndromes that is suitable only for Panacea!

At practical seminars, I often have to use the term “reflexotherapy” and show its techniques, mostly modified by me for those specialists who cannot use acupuncture and these techniques effectively replace acupuncture and convincingly win in comparison with it.

In this article I will talk about the appearance in our country (USSR - 50s) of the Chinese method of Zhen-Jiu (needle prick - cauterization with a wormwood cigarette) therapy. You will learn what this method really is and what is its place in modern integrative medicine. This is the opinion of a specialist who devoted 7 years to the study and practical application of Zhen-Jiu and refused to use it on the basis of fairly good reasons.

Acupuncture - ancient Chinese method treatment. This method, according to various authors, originated in China about 3.5 thousand years ago. In those days, there were real tropics in this country, and the Chinese did not need warm clothes. Look at the paintings and engravings of the time depicting the way of life of the Chinese people and you will see that they managed with a minimum: light capes, slippers, and straw hats to protect from the sun.

Due to the fact that the Chinese did not experience the effects of cold, their bodies were warm. In such greenhouse conditions of life, the blood circulation of the body (especially its periphery: skin, limbs) was ideal, the body was warm everywhere, which cannot be said about the present time and especially about people who live in the northern and middle latitudes of the globe, sometimes experiencing serious tests of cold .

Why do I highlight this feature human body respond to cold? Yes, because the level of blood supply, both of the skin and internal organs, depends on it.

The fact that there is an even temperature of tissues throughout the body is of fundamental importance in the study and evaluation of the thermoregulation of the human body. Violation of the level of thermoregulation always leads to dysfunction of tissues and organs.

The state of the level of blood supply affects the quality of trophism (nutrition) of tissues, their viability and resistance to various damaging factors. If the tissues are excessively cold, one can speak of a violation of the outflow of blood, therefore, hypotrophy and a subsequent change in pH in liquid media and tissues of the body. If there are areas with excess heat, they indicate an inadequately high level of arterial blood flow or the presence of inflammation in the area of hyperthermia. All these nuances are easy to identify with the help of thermal imaging diagnostics.

Decreased tissue temperature is associated with a decrease in blood supply. Firstly, if the outflow of blood from the tissues is insufficient, then where can a normal inflow come from? Secondly, the course of biochemical processes (and, along with it, a number of other chemical and biological reactions) slows down sharply at low tissue temperatures, sometimes leading to irreversible degenerative changes.

Even our immune cells - T-lymphocytes in tissues with a lower temperature become inactive, which is the manifestation of "autoimmune complex disease".

It turns out a kind of paradox - there are immune cells in the blood and tissues, but there is no immune defense, and a person suffering from chronic diseases cannot be cured, despite the use of even very powerful medicines.

Modern medicine is silent about the role of our blood as a coolant! She rarely uses this property of blood in the fight against various diseases. This shortcoming is easily eliminated by myologists, because they treat the muscles, restoring the return of venous blood to the heart. As soon as the outflow of venous blood from the tissues is established, the inflow of arterial (warm!) blood to the tissues is immediately restored.

I give a very simple example: in the main artery of the leg, the blood is hot (about 37 C), while the tissues in the feet are extremely cold (25-27 C), and even in the summer months. What are your feet missing? Only one - arterial blood, which with its warmth warms both the feet and the legs as a whole. For this, in the lower extremities, Nature invented vessels - shunts, through which arterial blood from the main artery enters the same main vein, warming the venous blood.

However, let us return to IRT and ancient China and consider one more nuance related to the organization of treatment. In those days, there were no pharmacies and medicines. A sick person did not self-medicate and, at the first signs of malaise, without delaying the pathological process, turned to a local healer who knew the art of acupuncture. It turns out that he applied at the very beginning of the disease, even at the stage of functional abnormalities, and not at the stage of developed degenerative lesions. Here in this case, at the stage of initial deviations in reflex reactions, pricking and cauterization brought a quick cure. The method of influence was both short and effective.

Since then, the IRT method has been considered the most effective treatment in China, although it was still not omnipotent. The healers of that time knew about this and used a number of other methods and means, plants and animal secretions were widely used.

For example, a tumor inside the body was fought by creating an extensive carbuncle in the skin (above the projection of the tumor). To do this, the skin was first pierced with a needle, then the bristles of the animal were inserted into this hole and conditions were created for the development of a purulent process. Everything festered, the person was in a fever, then the abscess was opened, and after the skin had healed, there was no tumor in the same place. These two processes: infectious inflammation and proliferation (unnecessarily excessive growth of tissue cells) do not "live" in the same body. Therefore, cancer patients do not have abscesses on the skin.

In the 1950s, a number of scientists from the USSR were sent to China to study IRT. Zhu Lian's book on IRT was translated and published in the USSR, and then a domestic monograph by E. D. Tykochinskaya was published. The IRT method was recognized by the Ministry of Health, and a specialty - acupuncturist - appeared in the country's medical and preventive institutions.

At that time, the IRT was booming. Patients went to the IRT rooms in abundance, sometimes they had to wait up to 3 months for their turn to see an acupuncturist! What now? Enter the polyclinic and you will see empty chairs in front of the IRT room. Why are there no more queues? Has the method changed? No, it's still the same, even somewhat developed with the advent of electrical, ultrasonic, laser, color-light types of influence on biologically active points. This people gradually began to see the light and realized that the effect of the introduction of needles is temporary. And with paid medicine for sick people, the question arises all the more - what to pay for?

There was such a humorous saying among doctors: “In Germany, a patient comes to the doctor with the appearance of the first pimple, and a Russian seeks help three days before his death.” In every joke there is only a fraction of a joke. Instead of receiving quality treatment when the first signs of the disease appear in the form of functional abnormalities, people self-medicate.

In fact, patients go to the doctor when they can no longer cope with the disease on their own. All this leads to the erasure of the picture of the disease and to the transition from functional deviations to gross organic changes.

For clarity, I will give a simple example. There are two pieces of water pipes, and both are bent. The task is to make the pipes even. However, there is a nuance, one pipe is new, while the other has lain in the ground for 15-20 years and rusted in places. Having laid the first pipe on the asphalt, the worker can easily straighten it with a sledgehammer, and just touch the other one, and it will immediately break in the place of the greatest rust damage or bend so that its lumen will be compressed, and the liquid will not be able to flow through it. In the case of the new pipe, we have a functional deviation, while with the old one we have serious material defects. A similar thing happens in the body, when in some cases there are deviations in the functions of tissues and organs (reflex imbalance), and in others - degenerative destruction.

Now a few words about the effect of temperature on human health. Temperature fluctuations in our climate are so great (60 degrees: from +30 to -30) that they can pathologically affect the state of health. Nose, cheeks, ears, chin and front of the neck are cold. Cold feet and hands. And in general, our person freezes too often, and this cannot but affect the temperature state of the skin, internal organs, parts of the body and the whole organism as a whole. Hence the need to apply mustard plasters, use creams and gels with red pepper extract, all kinds of wraps and applications of hot therapeutic mud, hot baths for hands and feet. These actions are in no way connected with acupuncture, which is powerless in such cases. I will say more, if the cold "climbed" into the bones of the hands and feet, then what kind of IRT can we talk about?!

Being engaged in thermal scanning, I quite often observe a decrease in temperature not only of the feet, but also of the area knee joints, hips, buttocks and tissues in the waist area - above the kidneys. I see cold hands and forearms, and in the region of the spinal column and joints, as well as in the anterior region of the legs, I often register excessive temperature as a sign of inflammatory reactions. All these facts are of practical importance for those who are engaged in bodily therapy, since the success of the treatment of the patient and the reality of our help depend on them. But for an IRT specialist, this does not matter. No one has ever said that if the feet or hands are cold, then it is impossible to insert needles into the BAP of the hands and feet.

We know that the so-called energy channels with biological points on them run through the head, body and limbs. By inserting a needle into a point on the foot, hand or other part of the body, the acupuncturist irritates the receptor cells that send electrical impulses to the brain. However, in the way of this impulse, as you now know, there are zones with reduced or elevated temperature, and hence with a changed local electrical potential. Consequently, the impulse coming from the irritated BAT will undergo changes in form, appearance and strength and can reach the centers of the brain (and it does!) in an absolutely changed, if not “perverted” form. And this is regardless of what BAT is irritated by: a needle, the heat of a wormwood cigarette, an electrode from an electrical stimulator, ultrasound, laser or LED beams. With any kind of influence, impulses from a stimulus can not only not help, but also have the opposite, negative effect.

Now I have brought you to the first conclusion. There is a significant difference in how heat is distributed throughout the body. If the temperature of the skin and internal organs is within the physiological norm, then there are no obstacles to the transmission of electrical impulses. If there are trophically altered tissues in the path of the impulse, then the impulse will change as much as the electrolyte changes in the tissues are great. This means only one thing: if a person has a pathology at the very beginning of development, that is, at the stage of functional deviations, acupuncture can help him. If the disease is at the stage of degenerative changes (fibrosis, myogelosis, osteochondrosis, arthrosis and other "...-oz", then treatment with IRT becomes ineffective.

In the early 90s, at one of the meetings of the IRT society in Leningrad, I heard a report by an associate professor of the IRT department, in which he complained that, despite the set of BAPs that have a sedative (calming and relaxing) effect in hyperacid and hypersecretory gastritis (hyperfunction of the stomach with high acidity), the patient had the opposite effect. Instead of relaxing, relieving spasms from the muscles of the stomach and eliminating pain and heaviness in the stomach, we got an increase in all these phenomena, that is, an exacerbation of the underlying disease! Scientists are confused! They cannot explain why this is happening.

What I heard was the "first call" for a critical rethinking of what is happening in the IRT. In my practice, I have previously observed the absence of the expected results from IRT, but I explained this by my ignorance or inability. However, this report made me think seriously about the effectiveness of the IRT method.

A year later, fate brought me to my colleague, a neurologist and acupuncturist, Alexei Falev from Sochi, Ph.D., who defended his Ph.D. from Professor A.T. Kachan. He was a real fan of the IRT, and even fluent in two dialects of the Chinese language. Friends who worked at the Beijing embassy sent him ancient treatises on IRT, and he translated them into Russian. During an exchange of practical information on IRT, I asked him what I was doing wrong if I did not achieve the desired result. He told me about the I Ching Book of Changes. I knew something about her, but the details that I learned from Alexei shocked me. In this book, the fundamental principles of IRT were given, based on the application of the so-called "hexagrams". Hexa - means "six", gram - a column. All together means the presence of six stripes or dashes, collected in special columns.

If you take a column made up of one 3 dashes and the same column of continuous stripes and mix them, you will get 64 unique combinations, the 65th column will already repeat one of the previously compiled ones.

This diagram shows how the hexagrams were created. Another interesting fact is the name of each hexagram. The penultimate 63rd was called "Close to the end", while the last 64th was "Not the end yet", as if making it clear that there is no border in this order.

The Chinese sages, who developed the theory and practice of IRT, arranged these columns in a circle. Each column had its own certain place and title. Each strip in the column carried its own information, which included knowledge of astronomy and astrology, anatomy and physiology, diseases and symptoms. According to these hexagrams, they learned at what time of the year and day it was necessary to treat a certain patient. According to them, the length and thickness of the needles, the places of their introduction, the method of introducing the needles (the inclination of the needle in the direction of energy movement in the channel or against it, the speed of insertion and the time of leaving the needle in the body), as well as the sequence of their insertion at various points were selected.

Therefore, in China, they began to teach this method from a young age. The training of I Ching could last up to ten years, until all this knowledge was assimilated so firmly that it could be used at any time and in any place. A patient came to such a healer with complaints of discomfort in the right hypochondrium. The healer inquired in detail when and where this person was born, finding out his involvement in the signs of the Zodiac and the position of the interested stars at the time of birth, found out what he did, what he preferred in food and drink, etc. He correlated all the information received with a table of hexagrams, from which he learned the predisposition of the person who applied to one or another pathology for a given period of his life, and how the patient should be treated. Assuming, for example, a liver disease, he asked the patient to come in the month of March, on the 5th day from the full moon, at one in the morning. According to the system of hexagrams, he knew which needles they would use, which of the BATs would be used first, and which points would be used next, how and for how long the needles would be inserted.

This theory of I-Ching, associated with hexagrams, can be compared with a modern table of logarithms, without knowing which it is impossible to make complex mathematical calculations. And just as a Chinese specialist in Zhen-Jiu therapy knew by heart all the information on the I-Ching given in hexagrams, there are people who know the table of logarithms by heart and extract the square roots of any numbers in their minds. Naturally, there are only a few such specialists, both in one area and in another.

Mathematics is easier, he can use printed tables of logarithms, and an IRT specialist, especially living outside of China, for example, in Russia, uses certain templates, that is, pre-compiled "recipes" - sets of acupuncture points for the treatment of a particular disease. This is very similar to treatment with medicines listed in special prescription directories.

Modern acupuncturists have no choice. After all, it is not possible to study the I Ching in a 6-month certification course at MAPO, and where are these teachers who would have such knowledge. They work according to template recipes compiled from BAT and printed in reference literature, using only the working hours of the day (from 9.00 to 17.00) with breaks on Sundays and holidays + holidays. I do not know of a single case where needles were inserted at 3 o'clock in the morning on a full moon. Such medical practice very quickly leads to professional degradation. It turns out that the ITR method exists for the elite and is not subject to replication.

Having learned from Alexei about these details of the I Ching, I realized that I was a miserable amateur, similar to a bullfighting participant - a banderliero, whose task was to stick banderilles (short spears) into the neck of a bull in order to anger him to the extreme. This was the decisive argument to leave acupuncture alone. I won’t grow up to be a bullfighter, especially since by that time I already knew about the effectiveness of manual therapy.

This is my view on IRT, and now I will give a point of view on the acupuncture method presented in the free encyclopedia of the Internet - Wikipedia.

Acupuncture

As a method of treatment, acupuncture requires special skills. In many cases, it puts people on their feet, relieves pain, improves the fullness and quality of life for patients who have tried various treatments and have lost faith in recovery. The therapeutic effect is achieved by the action of the needle on biologically active points associated with certain organs and systems. Also known as acupuncture, acupuncture is one of the most ancient healing methods in the history of medicine.

Mechanism of action

The method is based on the concept of impact on 664 biologically active points located on the body. Each point is a complex of interconnected structures (nerves, blood vessels, connective tissues), irritating them with needles, you can regulate the life processes of the body, influence the functioning of internal organs and systems (central and autonomic nervous system), suppress pain caused by any diseases .

Ancient Eastern healers noticed that injections of the body at certain points open holes through which the pathogen is removed from the patient's body, leading to healing:

  • injections into the Achilles tendon relieve headaches;
  • injections in the upper lip are taken out of fainting;
  • irritation of the forehead between the eyebrows relieves dizziness.

In the writings of ancient healers, hundreds of acupuncture points are described, each of which is attributed special properties in the treatment of diseases.

The procedure begins with an assessment of the patient's health status. After diagnosing, the reflexologist determines the active points and inserts needles 3-12 cm long and about 0.3 mm thick into them. The choice of active points is based on the patient's complaints. Deep mastery of such skills requires special training and many years of practice.

Acupuncture usually uses no more than 10 needles, disposable or sterilized. Sessions are painless, with the introduction of needles under the skin, only minor discomfort can occur, comparable to a mosquito bite. The needle is inserted in two ways: sharply, or smoothly, rotating. Sometimes these methods are combined: they are sharply injected to a certain depth, then brought to a point by a smooth turn.

It is prescribed by periodically repeating courses of several sessions. The duration of 1 session is 10-30 minutes, the course includes 10-15 sessions. Sessions are held daily or at intervals of a day or two. If the course of treatment is insufficient and the desired result does not follow, the next one can be prescribed after 2 weeks. To avoid unpleasant consequences, entrust the treatment to a qualified reflexologist.

The advantages of the procedure include:

  • availability;
  • simplicity;
  • high efficiency;
  • the speed of obtaining a therapeutic effect;
  • the absence of side effects when the procedure is performed correctly.

Sometimes acupuncture is the only possible method treatment, especially for pain relief and patients with pronounced allergies to pharmaceuticals. This is especially true today as drug allergies, drug intolerance, drug dependence and drug use a large number pharmaceuticals is an important problem in modern medicine.

Indications

Indications for acupuncture are many chronic diseases and disorders of life support systems, for example, nervous or cardiovascular, sleep disturbance, previous concussions or bruises. Acupuncture is used for neuralgia, neuritis, neurosis (including on a sexual basis), cerebrovascular accident, migraine, chronic stress, recovery from a stroke, and radiculitis.

Recommended in the treatment of osteochondrosis, disc herniation, degenerative-dystrophic diseases and pain syndromes. Acupuncture is especially effective for osteochondrosis, which is due to the many vital points located along the line of the spinal column. It will not be possible to cure the disease completely, but in combination with classical massage it gives excellent results.

Acupuncture is used for:

  • with respiratory diseases (bronchitis, asthma, frequent colds, rhinitis, pharyngitis);
  • urological diseases (pyelonephritis, urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, impotence, nocturnal enuresis and male infertility);
  • diseases of the endocrine system (overweight, obesity, diabetes, thyroid disease);
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, pancreatitis, stomach ulcers, cholecystitis, colitis and constipation);
  • diseases or injuries of the musculoskeletal system (scoliosis, intervertebral hernia, pain in the neck, back or lower back, injuries and bone fractures, arthritis and arthrosis);
  • diseases of the heart and blood vessels (hypotension, hypertension, angina pectoris, varicose veins, vegetovascular dystonia);
  • gynecological diseases (infertility, hormonal disorders and menstrual cycle, mastopathy, climacteric syndrome).

To this list, you can add getting rid of alcohol and drug addiction, smoking, facial skin rejuvenation and weight loss.

For weight loss

After exposure to certain active points, appetite returns to normal, the breakdown of adipose tissue accelerates, the hormonal background stabilizes, and metabolism improves. Weight loss per month is up to 5-7%. And to achieve the best effect, 10-15 sessions of 40-45 minutes are needed.

When losing weight according to Falev, points are irritated not all over the body, but only on auricles. The needle acting on the so-called “hunger center” contributes to blocking appetite, the patient eats less, and weight loss occurs.

No less popular is the method of losing weight according to Mukhina. A special needle, resembling a piercing earring, affects the saturation zone. The needle is worn for half a year, which provides a constant effect on the active point, leading to a gradual loss of excess weight.

Contraindications

As a method of external influence on the body, acupuncture has contraindications:

  • acute infectious diseases;
  • oncology, tumors of any nature;
  • pregnancy (especially the second half);
  • state of intoxication or acute mental agitation, schizophrenia;

Without radiation diagnostic methods today it is no longer possible to imagine a qualitative and complete examination. Magnetic resonance imaging or MRI for short is one such method. Diagnosis using MRI is based on the principle of nuclear magnetic resonance, the essence of which may be difficult for many people to understand. And there is no need for the patient to know this.

Relevant to them are questions such as: "What diseases can MRI detect?", "Which device is better?", "Is MRI harmful?" etc. Let's try to answer these questions.

In modern medicine MRI is the most informative non-invasive diagnostic method human body. The undeniable advantages of this method are as follows:
- absence of harmful ionizing radiation and harmlessness;
- high concentration and clarity of the picture;
- Extensive diagnostic capabilities;
- comfort for the patient, he only needs to lie down during the procedure, and if the examination lasts more than 30 minutes, you can even take a nap.

Assign to make and clarify the diagnosis of stroke, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, diseases of the spine and blood vessels. For example, MRI allows you to see and evaluate the complexity of a herniated disc. In stroke, MRI can reveal the location of the lesion and the presence of areas that have already undergone irreversible changes. In oncological diseases of various organs, MRI is prescribed to clarify data on the process of tumor metastasis, the location and nature of distant metastases.

For heart examinations and respiratory organs, MRI is rarely used. The reason for this is that these organs are in constant motion, and in order to obtain a high-quality MRI image, complete immobility is necessary. Therefore, before starting the examination, the MRI specialist necessarily asks the patient not to move until the end of the procedure.

Often Patients they ask the doctors why they do not prescribe an X-ray examination for him, but give him a referral for an MRI. The answer to this question is simple: MRI, unlike x-rays, does not cause radiation exposure and allows you to take pictures of the highest clarity, on which a specialist can see even the slightest neoplasms and tissue changes. And these two diagnostic methods themselves are not interchangeable, for example, a doctor can prescribe an X-ray to diagnose lung cancer, and an MRI scan for brain tumors.

It is also a mistake to assume that (magnetic resonance imaging) and CT (X-ray computed tomography) are one and the same. RKT gives more possibilities when examining the bones of the skull than MRI, but in some cases both methods of examination are required. Therefore, you do not need to undergo an MRI on your own, without a doctor's prescription. You should not hope that if you did an MRI yourself, then this is enough to make an accurate diagnosis. MRI does not exclude the need for blood tests and other studies. Therefore, the therapist should refer to the MRI.

Despite the fact that the procedure is harmless and it has practically no contraindications, there are still some limitations. It can be refused to people who have electronic implants implanted in their bodies (pacemakers, ear implants, etc.) or metal elements large sizes in vitally dangerous areas (brain, large vessels, etc.). Also, MRI should not be prescribed to pregnant women in the first trimester, since during this period the internal organs and systems of the fetus are laid.

Apparatuses for are closed and open, the difference between them is significant and the actual question is, which one is better? The most common for patients is a closed MRI machine, which is a tubular chamber with a diameter of 60 cm and a length of 2 meters. A special table is brought into it, on which the patient lies. A closed device, unlike an open one, has a lot of power and therefore the results of the study are more reliable and faster. However, lying on a closed apparatus is not very comfortable. Often this type of MRI causes panic in people, as loud noises are constantly heard during the procedure. Therefore, usually before the procedure, the patient is given headphones or vodka, but sometimes they cannot completely eliminate the sound.

An open apparatus appeared recently, but due to its convenience it has become no less popular than a closed one. It represents a room with magnets below and above, and the space around the table, where the subject lies completely open. The absence of noise, the possibility of a relative being next to a sick or small child during the examination, examining only the necessary parts of the body without affecting others, makes open type MRI more attractive to many people. However, an open tomograph has a low power and images on it are not always of high enough quality. Therefore, they can not conduct any research.
