Dancing is an art that cannot be mastered in one lifetime. The scope for development and self-realization is simply huge. We often look at professional dancers and admire them. Since these people have approached perfection, they are in excellent shape and have excellent control over their bodies.

But what prevents an ordinary person from dancing and achieving mastery? There are now enough dance schools, clubs and studios not only in major cities but also in small towns. But many, even with the dream of learning how to dance beautifully, do not come to dance schools or give up training at the initial stage.

The statistics say the following:

  1. Of the 1,000 people who are thinking about taking up dancing in dance schools or clubs, about fifty will sign up for classes.
  2. Of these, about thirty will graduate from the beginners' course.
  3. Twenty people will move to the intermediate level.
  4. After a year of classes, only 10 people will remain.

It turns out that only one percent of those who want to take up dancing completes the first year of training. Let's try to understand the reasons.

Anxiety

One of the main reasons for leaving a dance school or dance studio at the initial stage is the banal anxiety of a beginner. That is, an adult, coming to class, finds himself in an environment unusual for him. He feels like a child who knows nothing and who has to learn everything. Respect at work and in the family, sports categories, red diplomas - all this suddenly ceases to matter. And although there are separate groups for beginners in reputable dance schools or clubs, many still feel out of place.

Anxiety is normal and inevitable. Therefore, it would be best to put up with it and understand that this is just a price that everyone, without exception, will have to pay in order to learn how to dance well. In addition, the professionalism of trainers, their approach to training beginners and their psychological attitude play a significant role.

To minimize the impact of anxiety, beginners should talk to experienced dancers and coaches and find out from them how they felt during this period. You need to understand that you are not the only one.

The anxiety is most evident in competitions. Negative thoughts are spinning in the mind, such as “What if something doesn’t work out”, etc. That is why experienced coaches and teachers periodically hold intra-school competitions. This is done in order to accustom the psyche of dancers to a competitive environment and rivalry. As a result, during serious championships, dancers feel more calm and confident.

Wrong organization of time

Many who want to start dancing forget that you need to allocate time for this. And as you gain experience, you will have to spend more time. Very often, a person comes to a dance school and signs up for classes, but does not calculate his time and opportunities.

If the thought often arises: “Today I won’t go to training, because there’s no time, I’m going to next week”, then, most likely, you will soon stop exercising at all! A prerequisite for successful classes is accustoming yourself to regularity.

Regular training is the key to success not only in the art of dancing, but also in any other sport. Experienced athletes, and especially when preparing for serious competitions, train every day (or even 2 times a day). Therefore, if you want to achieve results in dancing, regular training is a must.

How to properly organize your time? It is necessary by all means to attend training at the initial stage. A month will pass - another, and you, as they say, "get into a rut." Your rhythm of life will automatically adjust to your workouts and classes. Of course, there will be gaps, but only for those circumstances that simply cannot be postponed.

A small amount of training

Research suggests that movements and skills that are not practiced regularly are bound to be forgotten. new material must be constantly repeated in order to develop muscle “automatism” (when the body itself remembers the movements, without the participation of thinking).

That is why with large gaps in training, disappointment sets in, as progress stands still. An experienced trainer himself will definitely recommend you the minimum acceptable training plan at the initial stage. And when the skill reaches a certain level, it should be reviewed in the direction of increasing the number of classes.

Male preferences

Many men believe that dancing is not for them. After all, there are much more "male" activities: bodybuilding, martial arts, parachute, diving, motorcycles, etc. And dancing among them is in last place.

However, this is not the case. Physical activity during dancing can significantly exceed that which is given in other, more "male" sports. Psychological preparation is also on top. In addition, a man who knows how to dance well always attracts the attention of the fair sex.

Lack of desire

Lack of motivation is one of the most common reasons for leaving a dance school. As a rule, the lack of desire is a consequence of the fact that a person sets himself impossible tasks and does not get a result. After all, in fact, dancing is hard work for many years. However, many associate them simply with a pleasant pastime.

Faced with the "harsh" reality, newcomers simply can not stand it and leave. Quite often, there may also be a fault of the teacher, who immediately begins to load beginners in full.

Defectors

Many novice dancers, in pursuit of excellence, often change dance schools. Sometimes this is justified, but often not. And the statistics here are relentless: almost fifty percent of those who changed schools quit training in the near future. Why this is so is unknown.

The change of dance school must be justified. And not just banal: "I want something new." After all, a change of environment, coach and team may not be desirable for a beginner dancer.

Conclusion

To stay in the top ten out of a thousand who want to practice is a real achievement!

Maybe later on, you will become the one who devotes most of his time to dancing, the one who trains every day and achieves high professionalism.

Where to find information

Especially for those who have decided to start practicing and want to get maximum information about dance styles, dance schools, cost of classes, etc., a portal has been created

Sports clubs can offer quite a few dance directions, but before choosing something specific, you need to understand what awaits you and whether you have one.

How to start

Standard set: strip plastic, belly dance, Latin American social (salsa, bachata, mamba, kizomba) and classical dances (rumba, cha-cha-cha, jive, samba), broadway, jazz-funk, hip-hop and contemporary. In addition, dance directions include dance step (step choreography, or step dance) and dance aerobics.

Usually classes are divided into difficulty levels: for beginners and advanced level. For starters, you should try an easier option and see if such a load is right for you or if you are capable of more.

In addition to standard classes, there are so-called preparatory classes that will help you master the basic elements and learn (or remember) the elements of classical choreography - body ballet and Port de Bras.

Port de Bras is an original technique created by choreographer and trainer Vladimir Snezhik. Preliminary choreographic preparation is not required. Here you can find elements of yoga, Pilates, power aerobics and stretching. The program combines strength and aerobic exercise, classes are held to relaxing music. Classes are safe for people who have problems with the spine, and are aimed at rehabilitation, and not serious muscle training.

Personal experience

I have always liked dancing. As a child, I tried not to miss a single ballroom dancing competition and watched them with my grandmother. But it was not possible to get into these classes for a number of reasons that did not depend on me at that time. Sports aerobics was chosen as a substitute in adolescence. At the university, I continued training in the sports aerobics team. And even if it was not quite dancing, but still!

After graduation, I tried, whenever possible, to attend any classes where elements of dance were present (step aerobics, zumba, dance-mix, and so on). Due to the tight work schedule, it turned out badly, and there was no point in going to Latin American dances without a couple. Then I did not know that in Latin there is such a thing as a solo performance.

The most interesting thing is that I learned about all this in the simplest sports club. I accidentally wandered into a Latin class, in which the coach girl incendiary cheered her group: “Come on, girls! Work your hips! I will definitely teach you, and in the spring we will all go dancing in the park together!” Ignoring her sonorous voice was difficult, and I decided to try.

nikitabuida/depositphotos.com

Then there was the first attempt at classical Latin. It was given much more difficult than social. Straight knees, chest forward, an elongated neck, a straight back and at the same time a retracted stomach, sharp quick movements that were immediately replaced by pauses and smoothness, the look “you are all plebeians, I am the only queen” - all this was quite difficult for me. But I nevertheless decided to bring the matter to the end (perhaps to the parquet).

Then I changed the club following my dance coach, and there, jazz-funk and contemporary, as well as choreography classes (body ballet) were added to the Latin classes. I used to think that such different dance styles would only get in the way. I will start to get confused and will not be able to bring to mind what I have undertaken. It turned out that this does not interfere, but, on the contrary, helps me develop in different directions and improve my dancing skills.

Gradually added to the usual strength and dance classes. When it turned out that it was difficult for me to keep my body in full tone and control all parts of the body for clear movements for some unfortunate one and a half minutes (the duration of a standard bunch), the coach sent me to.

It turned out that I went to dances, and received a lot of other skills. My body finally began to develop harmoniously, without any distortions. The back and hands stopped hurting (work at the computer and typing in huge number). For back and neck pains, headaches went away, posture improved significantly. Stopped dizzy after three quick turns.

But all of the above is not the main thing.

Dancing does not just reveal the physical capabilities of the body. They show his beauty and harmony of movements. They teach you to be graceful, to feel your body, to accept and love it.

Dancing is incredible therapy! Even if you go to class with a terrible mood, with every bit of music it will disappear and after just 10 minutes there will be no trace of irritability, despondency and stress.

Latina is light flirting (cha-cha-cha and jive), passion (samba) and tenderness (rumba). Jazz funk is an explosion of positive emotions and light foolishness. Contemporary is almost a theatrical performance that allows you to express all emotions, from joyful to negative, with movements. Strip plastic helps to loosen up, relieves complexes, teaches sensuality and sexuality.

And never say that dancing is too easy and that it will never replace "real" exercise. Just go to one of the classes, for example, to practice the basic cha-cha-cha technique, samba or contemporary acrobatic elements. Believe me, after that you will have such muscles that you did not even know existed. ;)

Introduction

What are our children doing outside school hours? Talking with the guys, to the question: what are they doing outside of the lessons, many answered- “Watch TV, talk on the phone, play games on the computer.” At the same time, when asked what they would like to do, they answer- "sports, embroider, play football." Some noted that they are busy with household chores, helping their parents, while they would like to go to classes, dance and draw. There are only a small number of students in each class who read books.

For 3 years now I have been doing ballroom dancing with coach Alsu Shamilevna Mancheva at the Exersis dance club. From the first lessons- dancing has become my favorite pastime, andI advise everyone to dance. With this research work, I will try to prove that dancing is not just a good hobby, but also a healthy activity.

Having become acquainted with the work, you will be convinced that learning and appreciating the art of dance is one of the greatest joys of a person, ennobling his spiritual world and awakening people to creative work.

Relevance of the topic : AT modern world Many children spend the day in a sitting position. Even for the youngest schoolchildren, games and running around take little time. Physical education lessons account for 1-3% of the daytime, twice a week.

Teachers and parents often remind us children that health must be protected from a young age. Good health is provided by physical culture, observance of the daily regimen and nutrition, maintaining healthy lifestyle life. Doctors believe that a school-age child should move at least 60 minutes a day.

I wondered what effect dance classes have on other children.

Objective of the project : introducing students to the art of dance, developing dance abilities.Get the kids interested in dancing.

Project objectives:

study the reference material on the topic of the project, get acquainted with the history of dance;

analyze: dance - sport or art?;

develop a questionnaire and conduct a survey;

prepare a multimedia presentation.

Hypothesis . Dance is the key to good mood and well-being.To achieve this goal, the literature on this topic was studied. In order to implement the tasks in the practical part, a survey of primary school students and parents was conducted.

As a result of the study, I found out that many children want to learn how to dance, that dance is beneficial for health, for the development of feelings, for communication, for appearance.

When writing the work, the abstract-research method was used.

During the research, various questions arose: Why does a person need to dance? Does dancing affect human health? What is the significance of dance for general and aesthetic development human?

Main part

Dance History

What is dance?

Dance It is a way of expressing one's feelings, emotions and moods. This is another kind of art, thanks to which you can reveal your inner world, a certain image, using plasticity, music, rhythmic movements and gestures.

Where do its origins come from?

Even in the most ancient times, dance was one of the first languages in which people could express their feelings.

Dance is the oldest of the arts: it reflects the early times the need of a person to convey to other people his joy or sorrow through his body. Almost all important events in the life of a primitive man were celebrated with dances: birth, death, war, the election of a new leader, the healing of a sick person. The dance expressed prayers for rain, for sunlight, for fertility, for protection and forgiveness.

Gradually, the movements of primitive dances changed: they became more complicated, became smoother, more beautiful. This is how the art of dance appeared - one of the oldest areas of folk art.

Dance is a sport or an art.

The ability to dance gives you the greatest of freedoms: to express yourself fully as you are.

Melissa Hayden.

Of course dance is an art! However, many people argue with this, trying to prove that dance is exercise stress, which means sports. Let's see who is right.

What is the most important thing in sports? That's right - competition! That is, the struggle for victory, the desire to be stronger, more resilient, to show the best results. Dance also has this aspect! Contests, battles. In addition, for example, ballroom dancing is called sports ballroom dancing, and their competitions are no different from sports!

However, despite this, the main thing in the dance is its content. This is what makes dance art! The dance is not intended to show the best physical results. What makes him beautiful is, first of all, expressiveness and artistry, and technique is just a means here. The better the technique, the stronger the artist, the more he can convey to the audience with his performance, and the more beautiful he will look on stage.

Sports take a lot from dance. For example, none of the performances of gymnasts or figure skaters can win a medal without dance expressiveness. Therefore, athletes of these types necessarily receive choreographic training, where they are taught not only technique, but also the basics of artistry. Even the most technical gymnasts will lose to those who will not only show the elements on the carpet, but also play the image!

Choreographers - professionals do not like it when a dance class is called a workout. This name is suitable specifically for sports, when they train some skill, work out an element. In dancing, it is correct to use such names as a rehearsal, a lesson or a lesson.

So what is dance? This is the most harmonious form of art, which will include not only spiritual development but also physical! Dance makes a person beautiful, flexible, teaches you to hear music, and therefore helps to become more cultured, reveal yourself, improve! In addition, in the dance you can compete! One does not interfere!

Dance is a multitude of possibilities, it is new life, new acquaintances, new goals! In order to feel this world, you just need to come to the dance school! Start from any direction, and you will feel how your life will be painted with new colors!

The impact of dance on children's development

The influence of dancing on physical health is very great.In children who are engaged in this type of creativity, endurance increases, the walls of blood vessels and the heart muscle are strengthened due to the increased load. Blood circulates faster, which eliminates congestion, and this helps fight any inflammatory process. As a result, children are much less likely to get sick. Blood saturates all organs, and most importantly, the brain, with oxygen, useful substances, which contributes to their development. Dancing helps to harmoniously develop all muscle groups, which favorably affects the figure.

Dancing also has a very positive effect on psychological development and health.A child who is passionate about this kind of art trains the will, learns patience, and also experiences problems with self-esteem much less often. Dance involves the study of beautiful movements, which helps to accept yourself and your body, teaches you to master it almost perfectly. Ease, as well as grace of movements, implies the transfer of these qualities to the sphere of communication. The child is liberated, his self-esteem rises, he becomes much more confident.

The influence of dancing on the development of the intellect is great.Freedom of movement helps to improve creative thinking, contributes to the development of the ability to improvise and spontaneity. The ability to develop a dance behavior strategy is a whole science that children can quickly and easily master.

dance therapy

Many people ask if dancing is useful? Doctors of all countries, of course, will answer you:"Yes"! Besides,dance therapy is considered a new and very popular direction of modern medicine. According to doctors, the benefits of dancing are really great, and regular practice of them can contribute to a gradual improvement in the overall health of a person.

dance therapy - one of the most effective directions for harmonizing the physical, mental and emotional activity of a person.

According to psychologists, each of us has our own protective shell of constrained muscles.

Today, doctors, choreographers, educators, specialists in physical education show an increased interest in dance therapy, based on an alternative movement of non-pharmacological assistance to a person. Dance exercises relieve muscle stiffness, relieve nervous overload.

In the classroomdance therapy teach people to live "here and now" and enjoy it. It changes the quality of life. After all, if we live with pleasure, then our loved ones begin to enjoy the fact that they are next to us.

Dance in my life

I started dancing at the age of 7, in the dance club "Exercis". I dance in tandem with Kakurina Karina Rustamovna.

The direction in which our friendly team dances is “Sports and Ballroom” dances. We perform at various events.(Attachment 1) .

We learned a lot of dances: Slow waltz, viennese waltz, Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Quickstep, which we also perform with pleasure.In our piggy bank letters, diplomas and 5 cups.

In the classroom, we hone our movements to the music. At first, the movements were clumsy. It was difficult for me to keep my body in balance, but gradually developed confidence, agility and speed of movement.

We dance 4.5 hours a week. it great work which is not for everyone. The more I practice, the more I enjoy dancing. In dancing I express my mood and emotions.

Before dancing, I had health problems. Weak immunity, frequent colds, posture and gait problems. Now I have become less likely to get sick with ARVI, my posture has straightened, I have become more relaxed.

Thus, dancing became a part of my life for me. They give me health, self-confidence, and also inspire me, improve my mood. Dancing is an incentive for learning and active life at school. Me and the guys who work with me in the group are proud that we have the opportunity to prove ourselves in dancing and show our skills to others.

Dance reveals and develops spiritual forces, cultivates artistic taste and love for beauty. If you want to be young all the time - dance and strengthen your health in the dance.

Conclusion

Thus, I made sure that dancing is a useful activity for a child. My guesses were confirmed: dance is a very special kind of art. It is more than just moving to music. Studying this issue, we came to the conclusion that dance is not only a set of movements connected to each other. Dance is a big concept that includes various movements, a certain composition, a suitable melody, and an idea. Without these components, the dance loses its meaning, ceases to be interesting to the viewer. This is a way of working on yourself, helping to achieve success in any field of activity. And dancing is a great medicine that helps get rid of many diseases and improve health!

In the process of writing the work, my mother and I read a lot of literature and learned the influence of dance on the body of a growing person. Working on this topic, I came to the conclusion that the study of dance will help to improve the level of my choreography.

Now, when I come to a choreography lesson, I can say with confidence that I am doing what I love. I have a new incentive to dance even more beautifully, even more correctly, because every dancer is a successor to the life of the dance, its development and, perhaps, the author of new dance styles! And dance classes have a beneficial effect on thought processes and on our health.

I told my classmates everything I learned about dance.

Conducting research work, I figured out the main health benefits of dancing:

Improving the general physical condition of a person;

Improving the condition of the heart and lungs;

Increase in muscle mass and tone;

The ability to manage your weight;

Strengthen bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis;

Development of clear coordination of movements;

Giving the body flexibility, agility and inner strength.

Dance affects the emotional state of a person in the following ways:

Improvement of the emotional state in general;

Increased self-esteem;

Perception of life from completely new positive sides;

Increasing self-confidence and self-esteem;

New acquaintances, social connections and prospects;

Good prevention and treatment for depression.

Dancing is a unique way to stay in shape for people of any age, social status and any build. As you can see from my work, dancing has a lot of positive aspects, and most importantly, dancing is new sensations and new discoveries. Dance! You will begin to trust yourself, feel the thirst for life - because if you can move beautifully, then you can live beautifully!

Ideal for mature women. Unlike jogging or aerobics, belly dancing is a gentle form of physical activity. This means that you can perform movements without putting too much stress on your knees, shins and feet.

Peculiarities

  • Start learning east direction you can even in poor physical shape: belly dancing will independently prepare your body for the necessary loads.
  • This type of activity helps to form a feminine figure. Since the movements of the hips in this dance are quite complex in terms of coordination, those muscles that are difficult to use during normal exercises are being worked out. Such fphysical activity contributes to a healthy flow and facilitates childbirth.
  • After 2-3 months of belly dancing, women feel better in case of gynecological diseases. Blood circulation improves, especially in the pelvic organs, inflammation of the appendages disappears, menstrual pains are forgotten.
  • Being engaged only in oriental dances, it is impossible to create a perfect figure, since this is a fairly similar load. Not all muscle groups are involved here, for example, the back of the thigh, the gluteal muscle, and triceps practically do not work.

Contraindications

Latin American dances (salsa, bachata, cha-cha-cha, mamba, rumba)

Latin American dances are known for their fiery, impulsive and positive nature. The lessons consist of three parts:

  • Warm-up - semi-circular rotation of the head, hips, circular movements of the shoulders and the like.
  • The main part is learning movements and their repeated repetition.
  • Cooldown - usually static stretching exercises and dance moves at a slow pace.

Who suits

This type of training is ideal for energetic and emotional people. It embodies the incendiary rhythm and clarity of movement. Latin American dances are also a great way to warm up relationships in a couple or make new acquaintances.

Peculiarities

  • The main feature of such dances is the constant work of the hip muscles with a fixed position of the back and a springy step. Therefore, the main load falls on the muscles of the shoulders, lower back and legs. Also, this type of dance helps to improve the heart rate.
  • One of the important features is that you will not even notice the load on the body as a whole. The maximum that you will feel is a slight pleasant fatigue. This is due to the proportionality of the load on the whole body.
  • Actively engaged in Latin American dances, you can not only lose weight, but also pump your hips, if you have a tendency to do so.

Contraindications

In the presence of cardiovascular diseases and problems with the musculoskeletal system, such dances are contraindicated.

Contempo is a combination of dance techniques from Western (classical dance, modern jazz) and Eastern (qigong, taijiquan, yoga) arts of movement.

The main exercises are built by analogy with classical and modern ones: from simple to more complex. The lesson includes exercises in the stalls (work on the floor), relaxation techniques, as well as stretching.

Who suits

Amateur and professional dancers. Height, weight, complexion of a person are not important here. Contemp is for you if you want to do more than just support good shape, move beautifully, but also to know yourself.

Peculiarities

  • Globally, contempo differs from other dance styles by its inward orientation, interest in the quality of a moving body, its relationship with space, time, and a partner. The dancer accumulates energy, thoughts, emotions inside himself, and then gives them to the viewer.
  • The peculiarity of the dance also lies in the alternation of muscle tension and relaxation, falling and lifting, sudden stops (often on straight legs), balancing.
  • Breathing during the contempo should be measured, as if it continues to move. Martial arts brought this requirement to the dance.
  • Contempo gravitates more to the floor, while the lightness and expressiveness of movements are emphasized. Usually danced barefoot.

Contraindications

Standard restrictions for physical activities. Moreover, this type of dance is quite difficult, exhausting, and you need to be in excellent psychological shape for training. Long stretches, practicing jumps can exhaust a person with a fine mental organization and bring him into a state.

This is a rather complex set of movements, during which you need to keep the whole body in tension. Training is often exhausting, with a fairly large load. Before starting, a 15-minute warm-up is necessary to warm up the main muscle groups, after which the basic elements of the dance begin to be worked out. For the performance of this style, not only the movements of the dancer are important, but also his appearance especially shoes. The most famous type of Celtic dance that everyone knows about is the step.

Who suits

Patient people who are attracted to the theme of social dancing. Complex combinations are inherent in this style, the elements of which will have to be learned not only in the classroom, but also at home (perhaps even mentally).

Peculiarities

  • You have to get used to a rather unusual pose. The dance is performed on half-toes (the dancer raises his heels and stands on his toes), the upper body is motionless, the arms are always lowered. The basic rule is fast footwork.
  • This is a group dance, therefore, on the one hand, you will have to give up all liberties, on the other hand, you will have to develop a sense of partnership when you feel yourself one with other people. Psychologists say that such training is especially useful for those who have difficulty joining the team or are afraid of communication.
  • Music has a clear rhythm and requires the same precise steps. It is important to hit both the note and the foot.
  • Another curious feature is that it is better not to practice any other dances before starting training. Classical choreographic training often gets in the way. For example, in ballet, the feet and hips are strongly turned to the sides. Here, on the contrary, the legs are always crossed. And forget about the hands.
  • The system of Celtic dances is extremely interesting in that it heals the spine without missing a single section, no worse than a real doctor. The habit of keeping your back straight will form after a few weeks of regular practice.
  • Constant training will form the perfect calf muscles. Although any kind of dance has a positive effect on the muscles of the legs, the Celtic ones receive a well-deserved gold medal.
  • This type of activity does not give any load on the hands, so if necessary (or if desired), you need to work out this zone separately.

Contraindications

Large shock loads (jumps) do not allow those who have problems with the heart, blood vessels, and spine to practice Celtic dances. Progressive varicose veins are also a contraindication.

We have looked at several basic dance styles from which you can start your acquaintance with the world of dance. Take a few classes and you'll see what's right for you. When choosing, consider your age, the complexity of training, your physical condition and goals.

I don’t know a single person who has never tried to move to music in their life, whether it was at a disco, at home with closed doors and curtains, on stage, etc. Everyone can dance, no matter how old you are, 3 years old or 103 years old. Starting from the first days of his life, the child begins to move to the music he likes. Why, from the first days, many notice that the baby, not yet born in the tummy, begins to be active with sounds that are pleasant to him. And all our lives we dance from time to time. Music always stimulates to dance to it, at least even nod your head to the beat, because it reflects our emotions, which we express not only with facial expressions, but also with body movements. Moreover, it happens that a person dances without any music, just from a great mood. Conversely, dancing can improve your state of mind.

In general, dance is closely connected with our life. It is not surprising that there is such a variety of dance styles and directions in the world. Here I will talk about ballroom dancing, which I encountered in my life and which I strongly attached to.

So what is this ballroom dancing (which is also called sports ballroom dancing - SBT)? Are they necessary or are they a relic of the past?

Pros and cons

The pros and cons of BT (ballroom dancing) have already been described a lot. I will summarize this question as follows: if BT is taken seriously, then this is a sport, and, accordingly, all the positive and negative points will be the same as in any sport (these are some injuries, and time, and money, and the subjectivity of the assessment, however, like in any other subjective sport, but at the same time endurance, figure, sense of tact-musicality, posture, etc., etc.). But compared to many other sports, this type of sport is the least traumatic (for example, gymnastics, hockey, ski jumping, football, etc.). Yes, and due to the fact that BT does not require very different from the standard average human capabilities skills, everyone can dance at any age. That is, this type of activity is subject to everything that contributes to its popularization.

Ballroom dancing is found in many cities of our country, both in large and in many small cities. This type of dance is quite popular. What is the secret of such distribution? I think that due to its versatility, these dances find their fans among a different circle of people, and everyone finds something of their own in them.

First, this great leisure time . Judge for yourself. For some time (from an hour to .... whoever has enough time, opportunities and desire) you move to the music with like-minded people like you. Many interesting acquaintances appear, with whom you often cross paths, share your impressions and joys from your favorite business, which contributes to the emergence of new friends.

Secondly,, both aerobic (heart training) and helping to tighten muscles. Of course, it’s quite difficult to pump up biceps by dancing, but the movements in dances are so diverse that they involve most of the muscles of the body and imperceptibly your body becomes toned and elastic. In addition, dexterity and coordination develop. All this contributes to the improvement of physical health. BUT physical activity to the music with the same enthusiastic people improves mood , being both a change in activity and environment, and stress therapy, which has a positive effect on psycho-emotional health.

Thirdly, this type of dance involves the interaction of two people, a man and a woman. Like it or not, but in a person cultivate patience and respect for a partner , because it emotional view activity that requires a lot of physical and mental strength. And I think that such education is required not only in childhood, but also for adults, regardless of whether you consider yourself a specialist in relationships with other people or not, such training in relationships is never superfluous.

Hobby or profession?

As I already mentioned, ballroom dancing can be practiced seriously and intensely, which makes it a sport. But it also means that you can do them less intensively, then it will be a hobby. The beauty is that in our time everyone can choose the intensity and seriousness of classes, giving it as much time and effort as there is enough desire and opportunity. Accordingly, the investment in this hobby can be very different. You can get by with the bare minimum by spending money on one pair of shoes (the cheapest can be purchased for a couple of thousand rubles) and a training kit, which can also be purchased inexpensively, which, with non-intensive training, will last from a year to several. And then the expenses will consist only of classes. Group classes once or twice a week from an hour to two are also relatively inexpensive. Often there is an opportunity to come to practice on your own in dance halls to music, which is also usually inexpensive. Well, if this hobby will captivate you so much that you will be more involved in this business, then there will be additional expenses (both for individual lessons, and for competitions, and for competitive costumes, etc., etc.) The lower the class (level), the less money can be dispensed with. Accordingly, as the skill begins to grow, there is a need for more professional trainers, classes with which are usually more expensive, and more luxurious costumes that need to be changed more often. And if you reach the international level, then there are completely different prices. But a high level of skill translates a person's original hobby into a professional area, and people by this time become trainers themselves (usually).

Thus, ballroom dancing makes it possible to satisfy different preferences of a person - from a small hobby and leisure activities to professional activities and even the formation of an appropriate lifestyle. There are quite a few examples when a person is an active dancer, constantly maintaining and improving his high level of skill, in his free time from training and competition, he earns by dancing with those who wish. And, as a rule, such coaches are quite in demand.

When to start exercising and is it worth it?

A person has been trying to dance since birth. Accordingly, you can start exercising at a very early age. Usually parents decide for the children whether to take the child to classes. And then if the temperament of a person and luck with the coach coincide, and there are also opportunities for parents to support this hobby, then the children are engaged until ... sometimes they devote their whole lives to this type of dance.

And if a person grew up without encountering ballroom dancing, but now he is interested in this direction? Ballroom dancing does not initially require more physical capabilities than the average person has. And the prevalence of dances often offer classes for both children and adults. Ballroom dancing is found even among people with disabilities. I can compare dancing with a foreign language, which you can start learning at any age and achieve very high success regardless of age. There would be a desire.

My experience.

I have returned to this review several times. Ballroom dancing has captured me too much, a lot of thoughts and emotions are connected with them

I started dancing at the age of 18. For the first couple of years I went to classes regularly. But things didn't move on. As in many dance couples, there are usually more girls than boys. At first, I was not lucky with a partner, and at that time I myself was timid and with low self-esteem in order to actively look for a partner myself. In general, at that time I came to classes to move to the music, learn the basic dance steps. active movements improved my fitness, and improving technique and having fun with beginners like me improved my mood.

Then I was lucky and a partner appeared, who was set up not only for classes, but also for trips to competitions. It was my second stage of acquaintance with dances. Dancing in a pair is completely different in comparison with a single dance, in addition to its results, you need the results of a partner and also interaction in a pair. My dancing experience has reached a new level. And trips to competitions brought me new vivid experiences and emotions. It turns out that it's so exciting when you get evaluated from competition to competition and these ratings grow! That is, the assessment of professionals is added to your subjective assessments. Self-esteem from this rises many times (which I really needed at that time, as my lifestyle changed, I moved to another stage, got a job, became independent, etc.)

It so happened that a few years after the start of dancing, I left this business. For several years I did not have such a hobby, I kept in shape in fitness clubs. And suddenly I came across the film “Strictly ballroom” (we translate it as “dancing without rules”, “strictly according to the rules”, “only in the dance hall”, etc.), where the life of ballroom dancers is displayed in a grotesque way . It's amazing how this movie got me. Apparently, he managed to wake up and change my former passion for dancing. And if my first trip to ballroom dancing was timid and shy, then here I ran to class at full speed. So my third stage of dancing went.

At this point, I was approaching my 30s. My attitude to dancing has changed a lot compared to my youth years. I started to take dance much more seriously. Now it was not only an easy hobby, when 2-3 times a week classes kept me in shape and distracted me from everyday life. Now dancing has become a part of my life. My successes made me drunk and made me spend everything free time to improve skills (6-7 days a week). Summer two-month breaks in competitions made me sad (despite the fact that I continued to study at that time). And I began to treat dances not as fitness, they opened up opportunities for me to develop acting skills, which caused even more interest in them. I also became seriously interested in the art of stage make-up and competitive hairstyles. My outlook has changed. The art called ballroom dancing has taken over part of my life.

I would like to advise those who are interested in ballroom dancing and are wondering if it is worth getting to know them better, trying to move to the music in a certain rhythm with certain steps. Try it for sure! This type of activity is so wide and multifaceted that you are sure to find something for yourself. And it is not necessary to turn into professional dancers. Dancing can give everyone a lot and exactly what a person needs at the moment.
