How to paint a plastic bottle. Painting bottles with acrylics. Paint application technique

Glass bottles from wine, cognac, champagne, milk, oil and even beer are excellent materials for making DIY flower vases. Painted and decorated vases and vases can decorate not only the dining table and shelves in the house or in the country, but also serving at a wedding or party, and you can also make a wonderful gift from decorated bottles.

Master class number 1: Stylish and simple

For such a painting of bottles, bottles of any shape and color of glass are suitable, in this master class transparent bottles for milk are used.

Materials: for degreasing - acetone or alcohol, as well as cotton pads, for painting - acrylic paints in jars or spray cans (better for glass and ceramics), a nylon brush, as well as masking or regular tape of the desired width. Rubber rings can be used instead of tape. If you're using spray paint, foil, cling film, or plain paper may come in handy.

Instruction:

  1. We prepare the glass - we remove the labels, wash the glue, wipe the bottles dry, and then degrease the surface with nail polish remover or ethyl alcohol.
  2. We glue the future vase with adhesive tape, forming a pattern: stripes of different widths, zigzags or a spiral. Scotch tape plays the role of a stencil here.

  1. We start painting the vase in the right places.

Tip: if the paint requires baking in the oven, then consider in what position the painted bottle will dry. So, if you cover both the bottom and the neck with paint, then it will be problematic to dry the vase, but you can make a design from thick paper and buttons as shown in the photo below.

  1. The drying method depends on the paint you choose. The manufacturer, as a rule, indicates the required baking temperature (if required) and time. Baked acrylic paints dry for about half an hour in an oven at a temperature of 170 degrees, and then it is advisable to leave the bottles to dry naturally 1-2 days to make the coating as durable as possible. The spray paints that were used in this master class do not need to be baked, but they dry in 24 hours.

With the help of this master class, you can come up with a variety of designs by playing with color, width and placement of tape or elastic bands.

For example, you can use unusual shades - bottles painted in delicate pastel colors or gold or silver paint look very impressive. Take a look at the following selection of photos - these are the colors that are best for decorating glass bottles to decorate a wedding or party.

And here's another one original idea- by pulling an elastic band or sticking adhesive tape diagonally, you can only paint over the bottom of the bottle.

Master class number 2: Painting a bottle with contours

And now let's proceed to a more complex and lengthy, but very beautiful way of decorating bottles with our own hands - painting with volume contour paints. With their help, you can draw patterns and ornaments in ethnic style, apply a complex and simple drawing or write beautiful inscriptions, monograms, initials (photo below).

You can also draw with contour paints using the dot painting technique as in the photo below.

And in combination with stained glass paints, contour painting will turn into stained glass.

Materials: any alcohol-containing degreaser, cotton pads and sticks, a needle and contour paints. If desired, the painting can be supplemented with sparkles, as well as acrylic and stained glass paints, as in this master class.

Tip: if you do not have contour paints or drawing with them seems difficult to you, then you can draw with the help of improvised means: toothpicks, needles, cotton swabs or a thin brush.

Technique:

  1. First we need to come up with an idea and prepare a supporting sketch. It can be found on the Internet and printed in a suitable size or drawn by hand. You can also use a homemade or ready-made template or stencil.
  2. If you are confident in your sight drawing skills, you can skip this step. If you are a beginner, then it is better to transfer the desired picture onto glass, that is, outline the main details and lines of the drawing / pattern. To do this, you need to: draw or print a picture, cut it out (roughly), then tightly paint over its reverse side with a soft, simple pencil, and then attach the picture with a shaded inside to the glass and circle all or only the main parts of the picture with the same pencil. Barely noticeable, but useful lines should remain on the bottle. If the image is not too complex, then it is enough to outline the main details right on the bottle.
  3. Now you need to degrease the glass and wait until it dries.
  4. If desired, you can cover the entire bottle with colored acrylic paint and wait for it to dry completely.
  5. Let's start painting: we circle all the contours, from time to time cleaning the nose of the tube with a needle and, if necessary, correcting flaws with a cotton swab moistened with water. Drawing is more correct to start with large details.

  • If you draw with a contour in stained glass technique, then the contours must be closed, and the stained glass paint must be in contact with them. Also make sure that all parts are completely painted over without paint over, otherwise the coating will be short-lived. Filling the contours with stained glass paints is possible only after 2 hours, but you can speed up their drying with a hair dryer;

  • In the technique of dot painting with a contour, the main thing is to observe the same and minimum interval in one line of the drawing and maintain the same diameter / volume of dots (in one line).

Tip: First, practice drawing with a path or dotting on paper. Remember that you need to press on the tube with the same force.

  1. When the drawing is ready, you will only have to dry or wait for the paints to dry, following the manufacturer's recommendations. Most often, painted glass is baked in an oven at a temperature of 170 degrees for about 30 minutes or left to dry naturally for a day.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the following video tutorial, where you can see how to decorate a bottle with your own hands using contours in a chiseled technique.

crop glass bottle with your own hands in many ways. In this master class, we use the most simple ways which can be easily repeated at home.

Method 1. How to cut a bottle with alcoholized thread

This method is more suitable for cutting wine bottles and bottles with thin glass.

  1. First you need to wrap the bottle with thick cotton thread and cut off the excess (upper photo on the left).
  2. Now this thread needs to be moistened in any alcohol-containing solution - white spirit, ethyl alcohol or nail polish remover, as in this master class. After the thread gets wet well, it must be wrapped around the bottle again in the right place.

  1. Now you need to carefully set fire to the thread, quickly rotating the bottle until the flame goes out.

  1. Next, you need to lower the bottle into a previously prepared container with boiling water for 3 minutes, and then quickly lower it into cold water - from a sharp temperature drop, the glass should crack in the right place.

Tip: If you want to make a vase from a bottle of champagne, then steps 2-4 will most likely need to be repeated.

  1. Carefully break the bottle, and then process the sharp edges with sandpaper - first coarse-grained, and then fine-grained. Voila, the bottle vase is ready!

Method 2. How to cut a bottle with a glass cutter

You can also cut the bottle with a glass cutter. For this you need:

  1. Make an incision with a glass cutter. To make the edges even, you can sharply wrap the bottle with an elastic band or tape before sharply. Instead of a glass cutter, you can use a glass drill;
  2. Then we burn the place of the incision, then we lower the bottle into boiling water for three minutes, and then into a container with cold water;
  3. Carefully break the bottle;
  4. We process the edges with sandpaper. (Rate the content! Already voted: 40 average rating: 4,60 out of 5)

How to draw a contour on glass with your own hands?

Glass painting involves the use of special contours.

They should be applied according to a certain technology:

  1. A small hole is made in the neck of the tube, and then a small amount of paint is squeezed out through it. This is required in order to remove air from the tube.
  2. After a space forms in the tube, it is necessary to twist its tip so that pressure reappears inside it.
  3. Then the entire edge of the hand and forearm is placed on some fixed support. Such a trick will eliminate the appearance of trembling in the hand.
  4. The spout is placed in a slightly raised position above the glass, the body is slightly pressed with fingers.
  5. The paint is laid along the drawn line to its end. The drawing of one line cannot be interrupted.
  6. To complete the process of drawing the contour, you just need to stop pressing on the tube.
  7. After the contour is completely applied, the work should be left for 5-6 hours for the paint to dry completely.

When an influx forms, it should immediately be removed with a toothpick. To do this, the influx must be distributed on different sides of the line. Using a toothpick, you can move the contour, which lay "out of line", but this should be done immediately after application.

Painting on glass with stained glass paints: the secrets of craftsmanship

Most often, stained glass paints are used for glass painting. This is due to the fact that the products painted with such material acquire an interesting, finished and expressive look.

However, this material requires special conditions of use:

  • large spaces should be filled with a pipette - this turns out a flat surface that looks like colored glass;
  • small areas of the picture must be painted with a brush;
  • the use of stained glass paints requires the presence of a contour on the product;
  • you need to fill each element with paint from the middle, gradually distributing the liquid to the very contour;
  • paint should not be entered on the contour itself, such flaws give the work a sloppy look;
  • the background should be drawn last, this will preserve the texture of the fill and avoid the appearance of various defects;
  • when bubbles form, they must be removed with a needle or simply transferred to the circuit;
  • the soiled circuit should be cleaned with a stick soaked in water or solvent.

Some craftswomen complain that stained glass paints begin to thicken after several uses. To fix this, they should be diluted with a special thinner produced by the same company as the paints used.

Bottle painting: a master class for beginners

Painted bottles can be used for different purposes. An empty container can be used as a vase for a flower, and a corked one can be used as a gift or decoration for a festive table. To paint a glass bottle with acrylic paints, you need:

  • bottle;
  • acrylic paints;
  • brushes;
  • alcohol;
  • cotton pads;
  • scotch;
  • acrylic lacquer.

Outlines can be used as an additional element.

We draw patterns with acrylic in stages:

  1. The surface of glass bottles is degreased with a cotton pad soaked in alcohol.
  2. A pattern is transferred to the surface of the bottle. Many craftswomen draw patterns on bottles "by eye".
  3. The background is drawn first. If it has a large area, paint it over with a foam sponge.
  4. Then large details of the pattern are drawn with a brush.
  5. After all the large details have dried, you can paint the small nuances.
  6. The finished drawing is dried.
  7. If desired, you can decorate the drawings with the help of contours. In this case, acrylic should be applied only in some places, for example, in the core of a flower, leaf veins, glare in the eyes.
  8. After the pattern has dried, the surface of the bottle is covered with 2-3 layers of acrylic varnish. Each layer is laid only after the previous one has dried.

Bottles painted in this way can fit into almost any interior. This is due to the fact that the variability of the depicted patterns can be unlimited and is selected exclusively by the craftswoman herself.

  • Bottle decoration on the outside. Many ways of external decor suitable for decorating gift drinks - the bottle can be opened and its contents removed after the decoration is completed.

An easy way to add color to a grooved bottle body. Pour the paint into the container desired shade, shake the bottle, twist it at various angles, and then fix it upside down. Excess paint will flow out, and the first layer will dry. Repeat the procedure so that there are no unpainted fragments.

Salt bottle decor

Salt bottle decor is a fairly popular option, since it does not require a lot of money and time, but it allows you to show your imagination to the maximum.

Salt decoration - option number 1

Pour salt into a heat-resistant dish, add acrylic paint and mix, kneading the resulting slurry with a fork. We put the mixture in the oven (100 degrees), after an hour we take it out, knead again with a fork and sift through a sieve. It turns out something similar to colored sand. We make several types of such "sands" - different colors.

Advice! To get interesting shades, mix several colors of paint before adding it to salt, kneading the resulting slurry with a fork.

We take a funnel and pour salt into a bottle, alternating colors. It is important that the bottle inside is completely dry. When the vessel is filled to the top, close the bottle with a cork and decorate it as desired.

Salt decoration - option number 2

Now we will decorate the outside of the bottle. We remove the labels and wrap an elastic band at least 5 mm wide on the bottle body - in the form of a spiral or in random order.

Coat the bottle evenly white and paint, and after it dries, apply glue. We put a bottle smeared with glue on the salt scattered on paper and gently roll it. When the glue dries, remove the gum and get a bottle with patterns. You can dilute this bottle decor with sparkles and rhinestones. In this way, you can decorate bottles with semolina or other, more original things.

Decor of cereals and pasta

The decoration of bottles with cereals is another interesting option for decorating a vessel. The main stages of work: remove all labels and degrease the glass with alcohol. We apply glue to the bottle and create several layers with a border in the form of a wavy line - glue peas at the bottom, use rice, lentils, buckwheat and any other cereals above. From curly pasta (bows, shells, leaves, etc.) create an ornament or a thematic drawing. We fix the pasta with glue on top of the layers of cereals, we also decorate the lid with pasta. We paint the resulting creation - here it is better to use spray paint with a metallic effect.

Bottle decor with napkins

Bottle decor with napkins or decoupage on glass does not require large financial investments, but everyone can prove themselves by choosing this design option, making the most of their capabilities.

Napkin with a pattern - option number 1

We need a piece of fabric, a man's handkerchief will do. We impregnate the matter with glue and wrap it on a pre-skimmed bottle, giving it an arbitrary shape. After the glue dries, cover the product with white acrylic paint. We take a napkin with a pattern, select the fragment you like, cut it out and separate upper layer(most often, napkins with a pattern are multi-layered). We glue a piece of napkin on the bottle and apply the main layer of paint of the selected color. After the paint has dried, we coat the folds created during the decoration of the bottles with a cloth, acrylic mother-of-pearl and cover the entire bottle with acrylic varnish.

Napkin with a pattern - option number 2

Bottle decor with tights

For such an option as decorating bottles with nylon tights, you may need not only napkins. This time, instead of fabric, we use a nylon stocking. We impregnate it with glue and put it on the bottle. We also create chaotic folds, while the cork can be covered with nylon, or you can stretch the stocking only to the neck of the bottle - upon completion of all stages of work, you will get the impression that the bottle is in a kind of bag. Dry the glue, and dry again. We paste a fragment of a napkin, let it dry, paint the bottle in the main color.

We complete the decor with a ribbon, bow, braid, sparkles. The decor of bottles with tights is a great option not to throw away a damaged thing, but to apply it in a new quality.

Toilet paper as decoration

Take a dark glass bottle and white acrylic paint. We degrease the glass and apply an arbitrary pattern, wait for it to dry. We impregnate small pieces of toilet paper with glue and use them to create volumetric irregularities on the fragments covered with paint.

After the paper dries, re-cover the area of \u200b\u200bthe pattern with paint. Now you can add rhinestones and open the entire product with varnish. Instead of toilet paper, bottle decoration can be used.

Bottle decor with twine

The decor of the bottles with twine looks incredibly stylish and original. The main task with this decoration option is to wrap it around the bottle as evenly and accurately as possible. After the first attempts, problems with winding should not arise. Glue must be applied to the neck of the bottle and in a spiral over the entire surface with a distance between the adhesive strips of a couple of centimeters. The twine sticks quickly enough, so you need to work quickly and accurately. You can add a variety of decor.

Advice! To make the work as accurate as possible, use tweezers.

The difference in decor can be not only in other options for additional decoration and the use of accessories, but also in the use of multi-colored ropes or ropes with different thicknesses and densities. The end of the rope must be glued to the bottom, smeared with glue. Twist the rope in a spiral. Further, in the direction from bottom to top, a rope is wound over the entire surface of the bottle, it must also be glued at the neck and, with the help of additional elements, secure and close the edge.

Decorating bottles with twine

Decorating bottles with twine also has General characteristics work, as with decor with rope and twine. Glue is applied to the bottle cleaned from stickers. Spreading glue on a bottle is completely inconvenient, it is better to do it gradually or apply glue in a spiral at intervals to comfortably hold the vessel. You can complement the decor with small circles, which are also made of twine.

Decor of bottles with ribbons

In order to recreate the decor of the bottles with ribbons, you will need ribbons, glue, and additional decorations. As a result, the total length of the starting material will depend on the thickness of the tape itself. The finished product can be supplemented with beads, shells, or you can use additional bottle decor with lace.

In order for the work to turn out neat, you should not use a lot of glue, you need to apply the tape closely, with strong tension. Each next layer needs to be adjusted in length. When narrowing the tape, you need to make sure that the edge is even along the neck.

Eggshell bottle decor

Bottle decor eggshell used to give the vessel the effect of cracking and visually help to achieve the look of antiquity. You can also decorate bottles stained glass paints. The shell must be washed and the film removed from it, dried and broken into pieces of the required size. On the finished bottle, decorated, for example, with a napkin, you need to apply pieces of shell with a minimum gap between them. When the glue dries, the shell needs to be painted in accordance with the shades and overall style of the bottle. Then you need to paint the cracks between the pieces for a more realistic look and varnish.

If you don’t know what to do with yourself on cold rainy evenings, I offer an interesting and even useful view leisure : painting bottles with paints. Moreover, you can paint not only empty bottles, but also with their contents inside. This bottle can be used as an original and exclusive gift.

What is needed for this?

You will need:

  • glass bottle of any shape;
  • paints (preferably acrylic); brushes with synthetic bristles of different sizes;
  • a piece of cloth to dry hands and arms;
  • palette (you can thick paper or cardboard);
  • container with water;
  • water-soluble varnish or any other.

As for paints, you can use gouache, oil paints, and special paints for painting on glass, and water-based paints, but it is more convenient and practical to use acrylic paints for painting bottles. They come in different packages, which is not important, but acrylic paints dry quickly enough, so you should not keep the container with paints open for a long time. The required amount of paint must be applied to the palette (or thick paper), and already taken from it with a brush and painted on the bottle. The thickness of the paint is adjusted by adding water to it. Acrylic paints are good because they are perfectly washed off with water and have no smell. I advise you to buy a set of paints of at least 12 colors, but also an additional large tube of white and black paint, because. they spend the most.

Before you start painting bottles, firstly, you need to decide on the theme of the image on the bottle so that the picture is in harmony with the shape of the bottle, but often it is the interesting shape of the bottle that dictates the image on it (in the form female figure, towers, etc.)

Secondly, the bottle must be washed well with any detergent, remove all stickers and labels (this also applies to full bottles if you want to paint them), wipe well and dry. Now the bottle is ready for decoration.

First, we prime the entire surface of the bottle, i.e. cover with a wide brush with a layer of white or black paint, depending on what kind of background we need for the future drawing.

When the base is dry, we proceed to apply the contour of the pattern to the bottle with a thin brush so that it is not very visible on the ground. Do not worry if the first time you didn’t manage to draw the desired image, you need to wait until your drawing dries, paint it on top with the same paint that the bottle was primed with, and then draw again until you reach the desired result. Remember - all subsequent layers of paint are applied after the previous ones have dried.

The theme of the image on the bottles can be quite diverse - from geometric shapes, painting under Gzhel, Khokhloma, etc. - to the image of paintings by famous artists. The author's imagination is not limited by anything.

After the bottle is painted and dried, it must be covered with any varnish, but water-based is best. And your work of art is ready!

Such a bottle can be used as a vase for a flower or a twig, then a cork is not needed, but it can also be used as an interior decoration bottle, then it is better to close it with a beautiful cork or tie the neck with wrapping paper, cloth, etc. You can decorate bottles in various styles, depending on the interior in which you want to place your bottle. Once you paint at least one bottle, you will want to experiment with other bottles, believe me, this is a very exciting experience. I wish you success!

And for dessert - an excellent master class "Decorating a Bottle". Good luck with your new hobby!
