Skinny pencil skirt. A high-waisted pencil skirt is defiant femininity: we model a pattern, describe the manufacturing process.

fashionable skirt, tight-fitting hips, with an elegant back cutout is a classic style that is popular among modern women. This is a basic wardrobe item that helps its owner look chic, feminine and confident. The product is easy to sew by yourself if you know the basics of sewing and make the right pattern.

How to cut a pencil skirt

Tailoring clothes that fit your unique shape and size can seem like a daunting process, but if you carefully cut out the product, you will definitely succeed. How to build a pencil skirt pattern? To do this, you need to have a couple of tools and a desire to please yourself with a new thing. After doing a few mathematical calculations, you will get a template for a skirt for your figure. When making a pattern, you should, first of all, start from the fabric from which you are going to sew a thing.

Fabric for a pencil skirt

The quality of the material depends on your desire. The question of how much fabric is needed for a pencil skirt worries every seamstress who is going to sew a new product for herself. The consumption of the quantity depends on such factors as the style of the thing, its length, width and the volume of the hips of the future owner. When purchasing fabric, you should take into account the increase that will go to the seams, hem, decorative inserts or slot. There is a rule, following which, even a novice seamstress will not lose with the amount of material for a pencil skirt pattern:

  1. If the volume of the hips is less than 145 cm, then the amount of fabric needed is calculated as follows: the desired length of the product is determined, and 20 cm is added to it for seams and other elements.
  2. If the hips are more than 145 cm, then the length of the skirt is multiplied by 2 and another 20 cm is added.

How to cut a pencil skirt - step by step instructions

Before you sew a new thing for yourself, you need to build a pattern. Those who are engaged in needlework know how to cut a pencil skirt: to build, you need to take measurements and build a base drawing grid. Do it like this:

  1. To get started, take three main measurements: the girth around the waist, the distance from the waist to the hips, the distance from your hips to the knee.
  2. Make a template for half of the skirt: take a large sheet, draw a rectangle with the long side towards the edge of the paper. The rectangle should match the length measurements plus 12 cm for the waistband and hem. The figure should be as wide as your hip measurement plus 2cm for seam allowance.
  3. From the waist, measure the length of the product plus 6 cm for the belt. Mark this point on the long side of the rectangle. Carefully draw a curved line from the waist to the mark you just created. Then mark a curve from the knees to the hem 6 cm inward from the outer bottom edge of the rectangle. Mark this point.
  4. Cut out the template.

Pattern of a pencil skirt for beginners - step by step instructions

If you manage to cut out a product, then consider that success in tailoring is almost guaranteed. It remains only to take a few more steps. When you cut the fabric according to the pattern, do not forget to add two centimeters on all sides so that the thing does not turn out to be tight, especially for material that does not stretch. So, to sew a pencil skirt with your own hands for beginners, we developed step by step master classes. For example, here is how a straight model pencil skirt pattern is made, which has a narrowed shape, a vent and a belt:

  1. Make a drawing, then transfer its contours to paper.
  2. Lower the hip line by 7-8 cm along the side seam, put point A4 on the back half and A5 on the front.
  3. From the available points, draw a bevel to the bottom line, narrowing the future skirt.
  4. If the length of the product is about 50-60 cm, then along the bottom line, bend 2 cm from each side, and from these new points, draw a side seam to the existing points. It is worth noting that the corners must be 90 degrees, otherwise the bottom will “bounce”.
  5. Build a slot (up to 5 cm wide, 18 to 20 cm high) or mark the height of the cut by placing a mark in the middle of the back of the pattern.
  6. Add seam allowances and start cutting on the fabric.

Modeling a pencil skirt

You can choose a different cut of a pencil skirt, the main thing here is not to ignore individual characteristics figures, correctly calculate the parameters so that when sewing the product fits perfectly on the figure. The pencil skirt has a tight fit, so you need to accurately measure the waist, the distance from the waist to the hips and from the hips to the knee, and correctly position the zipper. Modeling a pencil skirt is not a difficult task, but it requires exact numbers and a detailed description.

High waisted pencil skirt

Such a thing is a universal outfit that will suit both slender girls and owners of magnificent forms. A high-waisted pencil skirt can be short or slightly below the knee, and it can be made from any material, for example, suit fabric or knitwear of any density. Before cutting out a product with a high waist, you should take into account the load on the fabric, because the loose texture will not last too long.

Knitted pencil skirt

Products from this material won the heart of more than one girl and woman. The peculiarity of narrow knitted skirts is that they can emphasize the folds of the body, while fitting the figure, so they are recommended to be worn by thin girls, or you can use slimming underwear. The product shown in the photo has a number of advantages, thanks to which it becomes a favorite women's wardrobe:

  1. Do-it-yourself pencil skirt is very easy to make, while it can be of any length, with a high waist or with a slot - it all depends on your imagination.
  2. The product hugs the hips, favorably emphasizing the smooth curves of the female silhouette.
  3. The length to maple or slightly below is universal, so the skirt is combined with business and casual wear.
  4. Knitted skirts are worn well, do not wrinkle, and are easy to care for.

Pencil skirt below the knee

The product, as in the photo, was literally recently worn exclusively by business women, and today many have already chosen this style. A pencil skirt below the knee looks perfect on girls of small stature, because it helps to visually lengthen the figure and legs. The slit at the back or sides allows for freedom of movement while maintaining an attractive, form-fitting piece that every lady can cut and sew herself.

Classic pencil skirt

This kind of clothing should be in the wardrobe of every true lady. The classic pencil skirt is successfully combined with many types of clothing, it favorably emphasizes the femininity and beauty of the figure of its owner. It is worth noting that if you are at least a little versed in sewing, then a pencil skirt pattern for you is a trifling matter, because detailed master classes the process of creating a new thing is in almost every issue of the Burda fashion magazine.

Pencil skirt with pockets

If you want to give it some flirtatiousness when cutting a skirt yourself, then you should consider this model. The pencil skirt with pockets has a free style, so it can even be considered youth clothing. Different pockets can give the finished product a completely different mood: slightly protruding pockets appeal to lovers of informal style, while welt pockets with exquisite embroidery at the top are preferred by luxurious and self-confident ladies.

Front slit pencil skirt

The elegant slit on the skirt cannot but attract the eye. A product with such a nuance will look more seductive. So, a pencil skirt with a front slit is suitable for women of any age, but it is better to make it no more than 10-15 centimeters so that the lady does not look vulgar. There are many photos that show beautiful view owners of such skirts.

Video: How to make a pencil skirt pattern

A pencil skirt is a skirt that is narrower at the bottom and has a tight-fitting figure. This style of skirt perfectly emphasizes both the waist and the hips and is very popular.

Classic pencil skirts most often have a length from slightly above the knee to mid-calf, but there are also tapered mini skirts (about 40 cm long) and tapered maxi skirts (ankle-length).

To build a pencil skirt pattern, you can take and perform modeling (change the position of the side seam line from the point of its intersection with the hip line from vertical to oblique, thus narrowing the front and back halves of the skirt).

And in this article, a pencil skirt pattern for beginners (with detailed description process and step by step photos), built to individual measurements directly on the fabric. The master class is presented on the example of cutting a pencil skirt with a slot, mini-length.

Pattern of a mini pencil skirt with a slot on the fabric

- cloth, measuring tape, ruler, chalk, scissors, pins

Measurements:

I give an example of my measurements, you take yours

- Half waist (PoT) = 64/2 = 32 cm;

- Semicircumference of the hips (PoB) = 96/2 = 48 cm;

- Hip height (Wb) = 22 cm (usually taken from 17 to 22 cm, depending on height, but I prefer to measure on the figure);

– Skirt length (Du) = 44 cm.

Pattern construction:

Step 1. We fold the fabric along the longitudinal thread with the front side inward, so that the width of the fabric from the edge to the fold is equal to PoB + 10 cm. Fasten the fabric layers with pins to prevent them from shifting during work.

Draw a line (1) close to the edge of the fabric perpendicular to the edge, stepping back from it 3 cm (the width of the bottom hem) draw a line (2) - this is the bottom line of the skirt.

Stepping back from the line (2) at a distance equal to Du (44 cm), we build a line (3) is the waistline, at its intersection with the fold of the fabric, mark point B.

We retreat from the line (3) to a distance Wb (22 cm), build a line (4) is the line of the hips, its intersection with the fold of the fabric is marked with a point D.

Step 2 We cut off the edge - draw a line (5), retreat from it by 5.5 cm (for slots), build a line (6) - this middle line of the back half of the skirt. We mark the intersection of lines (6) and (3) with point A, and the intersection of lines (6) and (4) with point C.

Step 3 On the line of the hips from points C and D, we set aside a distance equal to 1/4Ob = 24 cm + increase (in the case of elastic fabrics and an adjacent silhouette, an increase = 0 cm; in the case of a semi-adjacent, we make an increase of + 1 cm and the skirt will be a little freer) mark points C1 and D1, respectively (for a protruding tummy: CC1 = 1/4Rb + increase-0.5 cm; DD1 = 1/4Rb + increase + 0.5 cm). Through points C1 and D1 we draw lines (7), (8) parallel to line (6). (7), (8) are the side seam lines. At the intersections of the waist line and lines (7) and (8), mark points G and H.

We narrow down: along the bottom line, from the intersection with the side seams, retreat 1 cm (if the length of the skirt is 40 cm. If the length of the skirt is 50 cm, retreat 1_2 cm; with a length of 60 cm - 2_2.5 cm) down, mark point E1 and the same distance put it up, mark the point F1. Set aside 4_5 cm along the lines of the side seam to the right, mark points C2, D2. We connect straight lines C2 and E1, D2 and F1. From points E1 and F1 we drop perpendiculars to the line (1).

Step 4 Now in the drawing the size of the waistline is AG + HD = PB + increase in freedom of fit = 48 cm, and we need AG + HD = PoT + increase in freedom of fit = 32 cm, we will adjust with the help of darts. The sum of the solutions of all tucks = lateral + back tuck + shelf tuck = PoB - PoT = 16 cm.

According to the rules, if PoB-PoT > 13 cm, then 2 tackle tucks are needed on half of the back panel of the skirt. However, in my case of individual tailoring with a small size, to minimize the number of seams, there will be one tuck.

We calculate the side tuck solution: (PoB-PoT) / 2 = 8 cm. We mark the points G1 and H1, so that GG1 = HH1 = (PoB-PoT) / 4 = 4 cm. From the points G1 and H1 we build perpendiculars to the waist line: G1G2 = H1H2 = 1.5 cm. We connect G2 and C1, H2 and D1 curved lines on the template or freehand.

Step 5 Back tuck solution + shelf tuck solution = 16 cm - 8 cm = 8 cm. On the solution of the front tuck, because the buttocks are more prominent than the abdomen, we take 8/3 = 3 cm. 16 cm - 8 cm - 3 cm = 5 cm remain on the solution of the back tuck.

We build a tuck in the back. On the waist line, mark the point A1 so that AA1 = A1G1, draw a perpendicular to the waist line. From A1 up and down we set aside 5/2 = 2.5 cm. On the perpendicular, we mark the length of the tuck = 13_15 cm.

The length of the tuck depends on the solution, the larger the solution, the greater the length.

We make a tuck, slightly going beyond the waist line.

We build a shelf tuck. We mark point B1 on the waist line, so that BB1 = H1B / 2 + 2 cm. From point B1 up and down we lay off 3/2 = 1.5 cm. From point B1 we draw a perpendicular, along it from the waist line we set aside the length darts = 7_9 cm. We make a tuck, slightly going beyond the waistline.

Step 6. We make out the waistline smooth lines.

Step 7. We make out the slot. In the lower right corner to the left of the bottom line, we set aside the distance = the length of the slots (the length of the classic slots = Du / 3), I will take a little less - 12 cm. We build the outline of the rectangle.

Step 8 Departing from the contours of the shelves and backs by 1.5 cm, making seam allowances. We make out the place of the tucks with a “house”.

Step 9. Cut out along the contour. We do not cut the fold line of the fabric. We translate the lines of tucks, bottom and waist into the second halves.

The pencil skirt pattern is ready, you can start sewing.

How to sew a pencil skirt:

In the middle seam of the back from above. We sew the middle seam. .

We process cutouts. Stitch the side seams.

We sew the belt. We process the bottom of the skirt.

The pencil skirt is ready.

As you can see, sewing a pencil skirt with your own hands is not difficult at all, now you know how to build a pencil skirt pattern on fabric and you can sew it yourself.

Even for beginner seamstresses, such a thing as sewing a pencil skirt with your own hands will not seem like something very complicated. The popularity of the classic style is hard to dispute, it is appropriate in the office, and at a party, and at a gala event. A tight, thigh-hugging pencil skirt can make almost any woman slimmer, which allowed her to take her rightful place next to the little black dress and classic pumps.

How to make a pattern?

The fashion element of the wardrobe is based on the pattern of the most ordinary straight two-seam skirt (Fig. 1). To build it, before sewing a pencil skirt, you will need to take the following measurements:

  • waist circumference, and dividing it by 2, you can find the value of the half-circumference of the waist (PoT);
  • the volume of the hips and, accordingly, their semi-circumference (PoB);
  • the length of the skirt in front (Dp) is measured in the middle of the front panel;
  • back length (Ds) - in the center of the back panel;
  • side length (Du) - along the line of the side seam;
  • length to the hips (DLB) - in the center of the back panel from the waist down.

For a free fit, you need to add 1 cm to the measurement of PoT, and 2 cm to PoB.

The pattern consists of halves of the front and back panels. In the upper left corner of the sheet, mark the point T and lower a vertical from it equal to the length of the measure Ds. Mark point H (bottom line) and draw a horizontal line.

Set aside the measure DlB from point T, subtracting 1 cm from it. Designate point B and draw a horizontal line to the right. On this line, set aside the measurement of PoB plus an increase of 2 cm. Designate a new mark as B 1 and draw a vertical line. At its intersection with the bottom level, put a label H 1. From it, vertically upwards, set aside the measure Dp and put a point T 1. Connect T and T 1 along the ruler.

On the line of the hips (BB 1) find the middle and designate it as B 2. Draw a vertical line to the intersection with the levels of the waist and bottom, marking the corresponding points T 2 and H 2.

  • find the difference between the measurements of PoB and PoT, not forgetting to add allowances for a free fit to them;
  • divide this number by 2, getting the width of the side tuck opening;
  • the total width of the opening of the front and back tucks will also be equal to 1/2 of the difference between PoT and PoB.

The width of the opening of the front tuck is taken equal to 1/3 of the half value of the difference between PoT and PoB. 2/3 of this number remains on the share of the back tuck.

From the point T 2 to the left and to the right, set aside half the number found to calculate the side tuck solution. Draw straight lines from new points m and m 1 to a point that is 1-2 cm higher than point B 2 . In the middle of these segments, set aside 0.5-1 cm in the direction of the side seam vertical and draw smooth curves through these points.

To determine the location of the front and back tucks along the waist line, it is necessary to set aside 1/4 PoB measurements from the straight middle of the front and back panels (points m 2 and m 3). Draw solutions of tucks, substituting the desired values of the numbers. Their bottom points should be above the hip line at a height of 3-4 cm (back) and 6-8 cm (front).

To form the characteristic outlines of a pencil skirt, you will need to lay down 8 cm from the hip line along the vertical side seam. From the same horizontal line to the left and right, you need to measure 1-3 cm each, depending on how to cut the pencil skirt - more or less narrowed down. Connect the points on the bottom line with a point below the hips. The basic pencil skirt pattern is ready.

Based on the basic version, several varieties of this style can be made: how to build a pattern of a pencil skirt with a slot, and make it without side seams.

To build slots in the middle of the rear panel, set aside 8 cm from the left vertical to the left (Fig. 2). The size of the vents depends on the overall length of the skirt, but the top of the vent should be about half way from the hip to the knee to allow freedom of movement and not look vulgar.

In the version of the pencil skirt without side seams (Fig. 3), the pattern of the base model must be duplicated. Connect the details of the front along the straight middle of the front panel, and on the left and right - along the lines of the side seams from the bottom to the level of the hips with the details of the back. In this form, the pattern is transferred to the fabric.

Tailoring

To understand how to sew a pencil skirt, the following will help step-by-step instruction:

  1. Baste and stitch front and back darts. If the option without side seams is chosen for sewing, then do the same with the side seams. In this case, you need to decide where the fastener will be sewn and leave a place for stitching it.
  2. Iron the darts, placing them in the direction of the center of the front and back panels, respectively.
  3. Baste the side seams, leaving, if necessary, unsewn edges at the locations of the side cuts, if the product is sewn in the basic version. In the case of sewing a skirt with a slot, additionally baste the seam in the middle of the back panel, turning the allowances on the wrong side of the product. In the version without side seams, sweep only at the back. Try on a skirt, fix the flaws and stitch the stitched seams on the machine. Iron them out.
  4. Sew in the zipper, positioning it so that the ironed pleats touch each other above the closed zipper. Secure the slot by making a seam to its width in the horizontal direction.
  5. To measure the waist, cut a strip for the belt of the desired width, fold it in half lengthwise and topstitch the edges. Turn it right side out, iron the part and sew along the waist from the front side of the skirt, then tucking the belt on the wrong side.
  6. Process the bottom line, tucking the edge.

Iron the finished product, smoothing the seams. Pick up a fastener for the belt and sew on the right place.

When sewing skinny skirts made of fabric with a stretch effect, you can even do without a pattern. Having measured a piece of material along the circumference of the hips, fit it directly on the figure along the waistline. In this case, only 2 side tucks are usually made, and the lock is sewn into the back seam. Having stitched it and the seams on the tucks on the machine, having processed the bottom and sewn on the belt, you can safely go to work or to a party in a self-sewn pencil skirt.

There is nothing simpler and more elegant than a pencil skirt. The narrow cut makes movements softer and slower, which gives a feminine look to the walk. We attach a pencil skirt pattern in our article!

How to sew with your own hands?

To sew such a skirt, you need a pattern. To build a pencil skirt pattern, you first need to take measurements.

First of all, we take a pattern of a straight skirt and make additions to transform it into a "pencil" style.

From the side, we lower the line of the hips by five to six centimeters and put points B4 and B5, respectively, on the back and front half of the skirt. We measure 2-3 cm along the bottom line to the middle (depending on how narrow you want your skirt to be). From points B4 and B5 we draw a line down to the measured points of the bottom line, which should be beveled relative to the original side line.

It is important to note that the corners of the skirt should be at a ninety-degree angle, so the bottom line should be tilted a little.

This will avoid the "bouncing" of the skirt.

Then he builds a slot on the drawing. We mark it on the line of the middle of the back half. Its height varies from 18 to 20 cm, and the allowance for its manufacture must be at least 4.5 cm.

We put the pattern on a folded widow's fabric and cut out the details. The front half should be positioned so that the mid-front line matches the fold of the fabric. We fix the details on the fabric with pins and circle them with chalk. We add 1.5 cm seam allowances on the sides and top, 3 cm for the bottom hem.

Lastly, cut out the belt. Its length will be equal to the waist circumference plus 2 cm. If the finished belt is 3 cm wide, then, accordingly, the part must be cut out 6 cm wide. Attach a doubler inside the belt, iron the belt so that the gasket sticks. On the wrong side, we grind the short edges, turn the belt inside out, iron it and put it aside for now.

We fold the skirt with the front sides and grind the side seams.

Then we apply the belt with the right side to the front side of the skirt, combining the lower sections of the belt and the upper edge of the skirt. Let's lay a line. We iron the belt up, again lay a line at a distance of 1 mm from the seam made along the front side of the skirt to secure the belt.

The second cut (from the wrong side of the skirt) of the belt is folded and sewn by hand. We also bend the side short sections of the belt.

We insert a hidden zipper between the two parts of the back of the skirt and sew it in. Then we lay a line along the line of the middle of the back part between the zipper and the slot. We iron out the seam.

We make a slanting stitch along the front side of the skirt to secure the vent.

We bend the bottom and sew by hand. Congratulations, the product is ready!

A pencil skirt can be made from a variety of fabrics, but it still looks best from a dense fabric with elastic fibers. Then it will not hinder movement, but will lie well on the hips.

You can add a simple style with belt loops:

Or flounces:

You can also make such a wrap skirt.

A pencil skirt with a slit in front looks very nice.

With what to wear such clothes?

The most famous and win-win option is a combination of a black skirt and a white plain blouse. In this dress you will always be elegant. Add decoration to your neck or watch by adding a heel, and you will become irresistible in the simplest at first glance clothes.

You can make a more expensive look by choosing fabrics of a certain texture. If the black pencil skirt is leather and the blouse is silk, then this will already be an outfit with a claim to chic. You can appear in it both at the office and at an evening dinner, adding the necessary accessories.

Looks very attractive "pencil" with a slit in front. The main thing is that it is combined with high heels.

High waisted skirt is perfect for petite girls. In order to visually increase the growth and give the figure harmony, you need to combine a skirt with a heel. Such a skirt looks perfect if it is made of woolen elastic fabric. She can decorate and give harmony to any figure. To hide the fullness of such a style of skirt can be subject to the choice of a dark color of the fabric. In addition, the skirt should not be too tight around the hips.

White color can look great both in evening attire and in everyday wear. It always looks spectacular and expensive. It can be combined with various clothes depending on the chosen style.

Bright colors are not for everyone. If you have ideal figure, then you do not need to worry about how it will look on you. You just need to choose the right top to match the skirt.

If you have too wide hips, then you should choose dark shades skirts that visually narrow the silhouette. The top can be made light.

If, on the contrary, you have narrow hips, but broad shoulders, then the skirt should be bright or light shade, which will expand the lower part, and due to the dark color of the top, the shoulders and chest will narrow.

To build a pencil skirt drawing, the following measurements are needed:

Art 36; DSt = 40.2; Dsp = 103.9; Vlt = 103; Sat= 50; Dizd = 50; Dsb = 105,

About taking measurements

All measurements and drawings below are made for a typical figure 164-92-100.

For the best fit of a pencil skirt, you need an increase in the freedom of fitting around the waist (Pt) and the hip line (Pb). We choose the amount of increase depending on the desired degree of fit.

Pencil skirt pattern from start to finish.

When starting to build a drawing, do not forget that only half of the front and rear panels are drawn (the figure is symmetrical).

Having written down all the measurements and the necessary increases, we proceed to the construction. First we build the grid.

Pencil skirt pattern, grid construction.

  • On the left side we draw a vertical line with the apex at the point T. And down from T - the position

    hip lines

TB = 0.5 * Dts = 0.5 * 40.2 = 20.1 centimeters.

  • From T downwards along the vertical TB, the position of the bottom line is laid down TN = Dizd = 50 cmantim. Through points T, B, H we draw a horizontal line to the right, and so we get the line of the waist and hips, bottom.
  • On the horizontal straight line from B, you need to set aside the width of the pencil skirt along the hips to the right BB1 = Sb + Pb = 50 + 1 = 51 centimes.
  • Through B1, and up and down, draw a vertical, and where the intersection with the waist is T1, the bottom is H1. We got the mid-front line.
  • To find the position of the side cut of the pencil skirt from B to the right along the straight line of the hips, set aside the width of the back panel

BB2 - 0.5 (Cb + Pb) - 1 = 0.5 (50 + I) - 1 = 24.5 centimes.

  • Through point B2 straight up and down, at the intersection with the waist - T3, bottom - H2 - we get a side cut.

We have finished building the grid of the pencil skirt pattern, let's start building the waist line for the front and back panels.

Pencil skirt pattern, waistline

  • From T upwards, postpone the increase in the middle

    our back skirt

TT5 = 0.8 centimes.

  • From the point T3 upwards, we postpone the increase along the side cut

T3T4 = Dsb - Vlt = 105.9 - 103 = 2.9 centimes,

  • From T1 up - increase in the middle straight front panel

T1T2 = Dsp - Vlt = 103.9 - 103 = 0.9 cm,

  • We connect T5 and T4, T4 and T2 with lines; got the desired waistline.
  • Find the position of the back tuck BB3 = 0.4 * BB1 = 0.4 * 24.5 = 9.8 cm,
  • This is postponed to the right of point B, we denote B3. From B3 upwards, the straight line to the intersection with the waist line will be denoted by T6.
  • We find the position for the lane

B1B4 = 0.4 * B1B2 = 0.4 * 26.5 = 10.6 centimes.

  • This is set aside to the left of the point B1, denoted by B4. From point B up the vertical, at the intersection with the straight waist we denote T7

0.4 is a constant factor for determining the back and front darts,

Pattern of a pencil skirt, we determine the solutions of tucks

  • First, we calculate the sum of all tucks. And it is determined by the difference of semicircumference. hips with an increase, semi-circumference of the waist, too.

vyt = (Sat + Pb) minus (St + Fri) = 51 - 37 = 14 centimes.

Pattern of a pencil skirt, we determine the exact solutions of the tucks:

rr per. you are t. = 0.15 *sum. vyt is 0.15 * 14 = 2.1 centimes;
r-r back vyt = 0.35 * the sum of vyt is 0.35 * 14 = 4.9 sant;
rr side vyt = 0.5 * the sum of vyt is 0.5 * 14 = 7 cm;
front length 10-12 cm;
side length vyt 15-20 cm; rear vyt 15-17 cmtr.

Pencil skirt pattern, we build a side tuck

  • From the point T4 along the waist line, set aside half of the solution (0.5 * 7 - 3.5 centimes). The points that turned out are connected to point B2. We make out the tuck with smooth curves.

Pencil skirt pattern, building a front tuck

  • And for this, from T7 to the right and to the left along the straight waist, we draw half the solution of the front vyt (0.5 * 2.1 = 1.05 centimes). We connect the points that we got with the top of the tuck, it is 10-12 cm from the T7 point. We equalize the tucks on the smallest side.

Pencil skirt pattern, build a back tuck

  • It is necessary from T6 to the right and to the left along our waistline, we will set aside half of the tuck solution.

    We connect the points with the top of the tuck, it is at a distance of 15-17 cm from T6.

  • Let's draw a waist line with smooth lines, shown in fig.

The pencil skirt pattern should not be straight, but tapered.

If the pencil skirt is slightly narrowed down, then from H2, inside the front and back panels, we set aside the value of our narrowing, for example, 1 cm, and connect the resulting points with point B2.

That's basically it! The pattern is ready! You can sew!

If I bored you with my calculations and long text, if you think it's difficult, then I suggest watching a video from designer Olga Nikishicheva on how to sew a pencil skirt without a pattern.
