Having carried out this procedure several times, we discard large black berries in a colander. Then tear off the tails, place in a bowl, add sugar in the amount indicated in the recipe, mix.

As soon as the berry gives a little juice, we twist the currant mass through a meat grinder. We leave blackcurrant in sugar for several hours. It would be ideal if we cover the bowl and put it in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning we start to cook currant jam. Until the sugar is completely melted, there is a good chance that it will burn.

Constantly stir the contents of the bowl with a wooden spatula with a long handle. Bubbles appear on the surface of the jam, which means that the jam begins to boil. Remove the foam from the surface and discard. We cook currant jam for five to ten minutes, and it is ready.

It remains to decompose the jelly-like blackcurrant jam into sterilized, necessarily hot jars.

We roll up the jars with sterilized lids, turn them upside down. Wrap with a blanket until completely cool.

Happy tea drinking in winter!

Hello! Let's talk today about a very tasty and healthy blackcurrant jam. I have selected for you very good recipes for making this delicacy.

In addition to being very tasty, it is also very healthy. Currants will give us their vitamins in winter. At the same time, it strengthens the immune system and it is useful to drink juice from it for colds and coughs. I usually just dilute confiture with some water and drink it.

And in cooking it can be very useful. For example, for lubricating cakes or you can still pour ice cream on them. It will be very tasty. I always loved to eat as a child. I also always liked to just spread it on a white bun and eat it with milk, mmm ... just lick your fingers.

For me, the most difficult thing in making this jam is sorting out the berries, especially if there are a lot of them. When I was a child, my grandmother in the village made me responsible for doing this. Oh, how I didn't like it, especially when your friends went to the river or something.

Be sure to sort out the berry, clear of twigs and leaves. Then rinse and dry with a paper towel.

To begin with, I want to present a very simple recipe for making our confiture. Berries really only take 5 minutes to cook. The main thing is to follow all the recommendations described and then you will get just amazing jam with the aroma of fresh berries.

Ingredients:

  • Black currant - 500 gr
  • Sugar - 600 gr
  • Water - 50 ml

Proportions can be changed, the main thing is to observe the ratio of ingredients.

Cooking:

1. Put the berries in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Then cook for 5 minutes, remembering to stir. It should be cooked on medium or high heat, the main thing is that it is constantly in a state of boiling.

2. Then add sugar, stir until dissolved and bring to a boil. Then leave to cool. Then put in pre-sterilized jars and close the lids. Remove for storage in a cool place.

How to cook blackcurrant jam for the winter

This recipe is considered traditional. That's how my grandma used to cook. When you eat it, you can feel the taste of childhood and the warm, affectionate look of a granny, who, although we were strict, she loved all her grandchildren very much.

Ingredients:

  • Black currant - 5 kg
  • Sugar - 5 kg
  • Water - 7.5 glasses

Cooking:

1. Pour sugar into a cooking bowl and fill it with water. Bring to a boil. Boil until the syrup becomes clear.

2. Then put the berries in the boiling syrup. Stir gently and turn off the heat. Leave in this position for a day.

3. After a day, put it on fire again, bring to a boil, remove the foam and turn it off. Again, leave for a day.

4. The next day, put it on fire again, bring to a boil, remove the foam and cook for about 15 minutes.

Put 2-3 tablespoons of jelly on a clean, cool plate. Cool and run down the middle with a spoon. If the edges do not begin to converge, then the jam is ready.

5. Arrange everything in sterile jars, close and send to a place to store your blanks.

We put a clean cotton napkin on the bottom of the dish, pour warm water and place a glass container filled with currants into it (make sure that the liquid level reaches the shoulders of the cans) and put the pan on a slow fire.

We leave this masterpiece to be sterilized in boiling water, and as the berries settle, we will pour the yummy into the container until the jars are completely filled with juice, while the berries will sink.

Blackcurrant jam in a slow cooker with agar agar

Blackcurrant has gelling properties due to the large amount of pectin in the peel, so it's up to you to decide whether or not to add additional gelling agents (pectin, gelatin, agar agar) to the jam. If you decide to make the jam thicker, I recommend the following recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg. currants
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 1 teaspoon agar agar

Cooking method:

Before we start cooking, we wash the berries, remove all debris (twigs, sticks and spoiled fruits), pour them into a colander and leave the fruits in it for a few minutes to remove the water. Next, we put all the berries and sugar into the multicooker bowl, set the jam mode for 1 hour, cook with the lid open.

5 minutes after the start of cooking, stir, the currant boiled after 12 minutes. Half an hour after boiling, turn off the pan, as the delicacy is ready and add 1 teaspoon of agar (if desired, you can add more agar and the jelly will be thicker).

Dessert is ready. Pour into prepared jars, close with lids (nylon or metal).

In order to preserve more useful substances, vitamins in the jam, and the fruits or berries do not boil too much, you can boil the berries in syrup for only about 5 minutes. This jam is called five minutes. It is prepared very quickly, does not require any special culinary skills, and the taste is not inferior to simple jam, which is boiled for a long time. Five-minute blackcurrant jam for the winter contains many vitamins. The best recipes recommended by culinary specialists are presented in this article.

How to cook five-minute jam?

Photo jam five minutes

Unlike simple jam, five minutes is very easy to prepare. The jam turns out to be more saturated, currant flavor, it may even have a natural sourness.

Ingredients:

  • Currant 2 kg;
  • Sugar - 1.6 kg.

Cooking

  1. First you need to sort out the currants, remove the tails, leaves and wash it several times in clean water. Then the currant is laid out on a towel so that the water is glass.
  2. The next step is to twist the currants in a meat grinder to make currant puree. You can also use a blender, a food processor, if any, for this procedure.

For cooking jam, it is better to use a wooden spoon while stirring.

  1. Cooking jam is recommended in a bowl or similar container made of stainless steel or enameled, with a thick bottom, then it will not burn. Currants are poured into such a basin, put on moderate heat and covered with sugar on top.
  2. When the mixture boils, it is boiled for 3-5 minutes so that all the sugar is dissolved and turned off. If you want to save more vitamin, you can only bring the jam to a boil and immediately turn it off. This will be enough!
  3. Currant jam in just 5 minutes should cool slightly (10-15 minutes), then it is packed in washed and sterilized jars and hermetically sealed with lids.
