Having studied digital design for the second year at the Institute of Business and Design, I still do not regret choosing this institute. From the very first classes in the first year, it became interesting to study in the educational program. The institute has a very pleasant atmosphere and already from the first year of study new excellent friends and good acquaintances appeared both in my group and in general from other faculties and courses in general. The teachers are all very sensitive, responsive, attentive and are professionals in their...

About B&D

The Institute of Business and Design was founded in 2001. At the moment, the institute is an autonomous non-profit organization where students receive higher professional education. All educational programs in which students study have been accredited and licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Education in B&D

At the institute, students receive quality education from a faculty that consists of 100 scientists and the best practitioners in their fields. Education is conducted:

  • at the Faculty of Design and Graphics, where bachelors and masters are trained, who will later be able to work in the field of fashion design, environmental design and graphic design;
  • at the Faculty of Marketing and Advertising, where they train bachelors and masters who will be able to manage business processes in the field of public relations, advertising and marketing;
  • at the Faculty of Economics and Management, where bachelors and masters are trained who will be able to manage financial and organizational business projects at various modern enterprises and firms;
  • at the School of Art and Design, where anyone can receive additional education in the field of clothing design, interior decoration, graphics, makeup and drawing.

B&D considers its mission to be training highly qualified designers and managers who will be able to fully realize their own creative ideas and ideas in any area of modern design and effectively manage the development of their business.

Quality of the educational process at B&D

Education at the institute is carried out in such a way that immediately after graduating from B&D, university students can work in their specialty. For this purpose, the institute has developed special programs that require students to solve practical problems that they may encounter after graduation. The B&D educational process is designed to develop in students all the skills and abilities that will allow them to make a brilliant career.

During their studies, students constantly undergo internships at various enterprises and firms with which the university cooperates, and they not only implement the acquired knowledge, but also solve special problems that contribute to the development of brands and business processes of these companies.

The B&D educational system allows the student to fully immerse himself in his studies, thanks to the modular learning system. To do this, every semester students study disciplines that are inextricably linked with each other. This way, they better understand these connections and can become more competent in their specialty.

In order to regularly evaluate the quality of student learning, the institute has introduced a point-rating system. It arose thanks to the Bologna educational system and helps improve the quality of education, because students themselves see in which discipline they scored lower, which means they need to improve it.

So that students can engage in self-education in any free time, B&D has a special Internet environment, built on a new generation computer program, operating daily and around the clock. Thanks to this environment, students have constant access to the university’s electronic library, which contains all the textbooks and teaching aids necessary for studying. It allows students to communicate in special educational forums, work in virtual master classes, honing their skills, and create special groups on social networks together with classmates to jointly solve problems assigned to them.

Scientific and creative activities in B&D

One of the most important components of the educational activities of B&D is the implementation in practical activities of the results of various scientific researches, which are carried out at the university departments by the joint efforts of teachers and students. These studies can be part of the educational process at a university or be commissioned by various firms, enterprises and organizations.

The institute constantly hosts various conferences, competitions and exhibitions, in which the creative works of B&D students compete with numerous competitors from various parts of Russia and abroad.

While conducting design research, students figure out how to use innovative technologies to design clothing, how they can improve the design of their hometown, and what methods can be used to develop creative talents for people with disabilities due to health conditions.

When studying in the areas of marketing or management, students invent options for building business models in various areas of the media by mastering the latest technologies, and try to figure out how else they can improve the modern education system.

Send an application to the university

In 1995, at the behest of time, the Institute of Business and Design accepted its first students in Moscow. Feedback on the opening of an autonomous non-profit organization of higher education was joyful, since the country will have its own specialists in the most modern professions. The founder was the Research Institute of Vocational Education LLC. Address of the Institute of Business and Design: Moscow, Protopopovsky Lane, building No. 9.

Opening

The London Academy of Business and the Russian branch of UNESCO, a charitable foundation for the development of education, took an active part in the opening of this university. First, the university opened as the International Academy of Business, then the status was changed, and now it is the Institute of Business and Design. Reviews indicate that training at first was based on foreign programs, moreover, professional European postgraduate education.

In 2001, the institute left the International Academy of Business because it received a domestic license from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. At this moment, the name of the university changed for the first time; it became the Institute of Open Business Education, a non-state educational institution. In 2002, a significant event occurred - a design direction was opened at the university, thanks to which the training of specialists reached a new, higher quality level, although the Institute of Business and Design received its first reviews only in 2013, when it again changed both its status and name. The teaching of students favorably combines the best traditions of Soviet education and innovative European techniques.

Institute today

Today, the Institute of Business and Design has the most favorable reviews, because it is a successful and dynamically developing educational organization operating on fully accredited programs. Masters and bachelors are trained here, and additional education programs for declared professions are implemented. All graduates easily find a field of activity to benefit society, since the greatest attention is paid to the development of initiative, creative thinking, leadership skills based on an understanding of business processes and well-established management skills.

This unique creative community - the Institute of Business and Design - employers, where university graduates work, always celebrate this. Innovative design thinking is combined with practical management experience, and therefore this is successfully translated into finished projects. Already in the first years, the Moscow Institute of Business and Design gives students fundamental knowledge in the field chosen by the students, and the knowledge is reinforced by master classes from well-known branding and advertising agencies, from successful businessmen and designers.

Future businessmen

Next, students work on interfaculty joint projects, which from time to time culminate in a startup, that is, promotion of a created product or original brand, support of business ideas. Therefore, the Institute of Business and Design also receives from graduates whose diploma works were highly appreciated by independent experts and served as the basis for organizing their own business.

Here they train leaders who are able to lead a team, a creative team, or an innovative organization. The rating of the Institute of Business and Design is consistently high. Graduates work in the most creative industries, create and develop successful businesses. Many continue their studies and receive a master's degree. The success of the Institute of Business and Design is attributed to such factors as the focus of training on practical tasks, constant focus on the market and its needs. International recognition of all programs in which students are taught also means a lot. Specifically, specialties will be discussed at the faculties of the Institute of Business and Design.

Faculties

It trains marketers, managers, HR and branding specialists. There are both master's and bachelor's degrees. The Faculty of Design and Fashion has the following areas: environmental design, graphic design, costume design. Specialists with a diploma from the Institute of Business and Design (Moscow), who have received one of these specialties, are able to resolve non-standard situations, they head departments in large companies, have their own agencies and create brands.

The Higher School of Branding organizes the training of specialists in three main areas. These are brand management, brand design and brand strategy. The School of Art and Design has the widest choice for training and retraining - many different programs are used, and there are workshops of the most famous designers. There are courses for schoolchildren who are planning to enter the Institute of Business and Design. The budget here is provided for those who score 180 points in the entrance examination (creative competition) and at least 160 points for the Unified State Exam. This is very difficult, and therefore your own capabilities must be taken into account in advance.

Graphic design

This program prepares professionals in advertising and graphic design. Graduates work in the design of various multi-page publications, in advertising, packaging design, and web design. In addition to general educational disciplines that form the cultural level (history of graphic design, world history, art history, photography, the basics of preparing a business plan), special emphasis is placed on professional disciplines - design (corporate style), sign formation, web design, multimedia, packaging, illustration, typography, font, special painting, calligraphy, propaedeutics.

But the most valuable thing that the Institute of Business and Design provides (student reviews confirm this) is the study of professional technologies and computer programs - Adobe Acrobat, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and many others. Professional disciplines in the program are represented so widely that the graduate will easily choose a job to his liking, since he will know and be able to do a lot.

Conditions

Students study in modern workshops, where they create their projects, listen to lectures in beautiful classrooms, computer classes are also equipped with the latest technology. At the end of the semester, the exhibition space of the institute is at its busiest, where student works in all disciplines are presented for open viewing.

At the Institute of Business and Design, the passing score for any specialty is one of the highest. To enroll, you need to pass a creative exam three times - in painting, drawing and composition, and then pass an additional professional test. These are quite difficult entrance exams, as, indeed, for any creative university.

Digital design

This program aims to train professionals in the field of information technology and digital design. There are few professions in the world that would combine so many diverse skills, abilities, knowledge and experience. Graduates work in programming, web design, game design, motion design - all these professions have been brought about by new times, and the demand for such specialists is incredibly high, as digital technologies are developing more and more every year.

The program includes laying the foundation for the further development of the design discipline; professional programs are studied: 3D-Coat, ZBrush, 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, Character Animator, Animate, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Acrobat Pro, Experience Design, InDesign, Illustrator , Adobe Photoshop and others. Knowledge gained from disciplines that introduce the basics of WordPress HTML/CSS/JavaScript, UI design, Dreamweaver, Axure RP Pro, Balsamiq Mockups, CogTool, as well as from a very detailed study of the basics of programming is always useful.

How to proceed

Long before admission, you need to take care of a good knowledge of the English language, take part in school and other courses in cultural studies, economics or programming. Within the walls of the institute, the student will have a huge amount of practice and a very rich theoretical program. Even before admission, you need to be able to study purposefully and persistently, and most importantly - a lot.

There is also a big creative competition here, the applicant will face a triple test in painting, drawing and composition, then complete a professional assignment. Having a certificate of completion of an art school, or better yet, an art school (college), is simply necessary. It is not even the certificate that is the main factor, but the skills acquired during the training process. Otherwise, it will be difficult to pass the entrance examination. However, there is another way out.

Training courses

If there is no artistic training, you can complete preparatory courses at the Institute of Business and Design. Students in the ninth and tenth grades who have not yet decided on a specific profession take an introduction to design course. Eleventh graders have access to an intensive preparation course for passing creative exams, as well as creating a portfolio.

There is also a super-intensive summer course for applicants who realized it late and had almost no time left for preparation. At the very least, the skills to enter a university will be obtained, perhaps successfully. And the full program of the preparatory course is eight months. Those who have mastered it and enrolled in a bachelor's degree receive a discount on tuition of as much as ten percent. Those who completed the six-month program receive only five percent, which is also a lot, because studying at the Institute of Business and Design is generally not cheap.

Continuing Education

A bachelor's degree is the first basic stage, and if a graduate plans to build his own business, he will need much more knowledge. New prospects will open with the completion of the master's degree. There are many reasons to continue studying. Firstly, it is extremely interesting; students and graduates mostly do internships abroad. And in the future, senior management positions will be available, as well as work in foreign companies.

After completing a master's degree, you can engage in scientific or teaching activities, or enroll in graduate school. During such a long period of study, you can repeatedly change direction and master related professions. Among the master's programs there are extremely popular ones - visual design, brand design and management, strategic planning.

Illustration and animation

Graduates who have mastered this educational program become artists and designers in the animation, gaming, and book industries; they are aimed at solving conceptual visualization problems. These are animators, illustrators, and motion designers. Students are immersed in the profession from the very beginning of their studies, already in the first years - they are taught painting, drawing, the basics of composition, history, theory, graphics and animation techniques.

Next, students choose a specialization in the field of multimedia design, animation, and illustration. Professional disciplines are integrated with general cultural ones, which is why the competitiveness of graduates of the Institute of Business and Design is so high. Computer technologies are studied in great detail.

Costume design

This educational program feeds the fashion industry, preparing specialists in demand at all levels - both Russian and international. Many graduates either choose a branded company for employment or open their own clothing line. In terms of costume design ratings, it is ahead of all Russian schools in the fashion industry. The teaching methods are unique - proprietary, which nevertheless comply with educational standards.

General education disciplines are studied especially deeply - English language, art history, academic painting and drawing, production skills. As well as professional disciplines, special attention is paid to design, design, modeling, costume manufacturing technologies, materials science, prototyping, computer design, trendworking, imageology. The history of costume and fashion houses is studied in great detail. Design graphics and implementation of your own project in the material are required.
