A lazy version of royal gooseberry jam. There is no need to remove the seeds and fill the nuts with berries. Everything is much simpler, but it turns out no less tasty.

Ingredients

1 kg gooseberries;

150 grams of nuts;

0.8 kg sugar;

5 cherry leaves;

0.35 liters of water.

Preparation

1. Pour water into a saucepan, boil the cherry leaves for a few minutes, then remove and throw away.

2. Add sugar to the broth, turn on the stove and start heating.

3. Wash the gooseberries and cut them in half. You can also use whole berries, but in this case the cooking time will need to be increased by ten minutes.

4. Place the berries in the syrup and cook for five minutes.

5. While the gooseberries are cooking, quickly chop the nuts and fry them in a frying pan for a minute.

6. Transfer to a saucepan.

7. Prepare the jam for about ten more minutes, turn it off, put it in jars or just use it.

Cherry leaves are frequent companions of gooseberry jam. They give the product a pleasant aroma. But few people know that instead of them you can use garden currant leaves, but only black and fragrant ones.

No lemons or oranges? Only zest can be added to jam. It is she who gives that very aroma and zest to the winter delicacy.

Often the gooseberry does not want to part with its tails and holds them tightly. Preparing the berries can take a long time. To avoid this, you can use nail scissors and simply cut off all excess.
