How to cook steamed minced chicken cutlets in a slow cooker

Prepare minced chicken at home using chicken fillet or other pieces of meat. Or buy minced meat from a trusted seller. Place the freshly cooled minced meat in a convenient deep bowl. Peel the garlic and onions - rinse them and dry with a paper towel. Grind the products in a meat grinder or puree in a blender. Add aromatic vegetables to the minced meat and mix well.

Add semolina. Mix well.

Add salt and ground pepper. You can use mixtures of different peppers or just one type. Add a little table mustard. You can experiment with seasonings - take your favorite mixtures. Stir.

Wash and dry parsley or other herbs. Remove any rough stems. Chop the leaves finely and add to the rest of the ingredients. Stir. To make the minced meat more dense, beat it by lifting the minced meat up with your hands and carefully throwing it onto the board or back into the bowl. Do this procedure 3-4 times. Leave in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. If you have extra time and you are not in a hurry, you can leave it for 1 hour. During this time, the grains of semolina will swell well and the consistency of the minced meat will become a full-fledged mass. This is why eggs are not used in the recipe - they are simply not needed. For a bunch of minced meat, it contains semolina.

Pour hot water into the multicooker bowl to start the cooking process faster. Place a steaming rack. The water should be 1-2 cm below the grate. Form small round pieces from the minced meat and place them on a stand. Cover tightly. Turn on the steam/meat/legumes program for 10 minutes.

Steamed chicken cutlets are ready soon.

You can serve them immediately. Enjoy your meal!

Cooking tips

  • Chicken cutlets will become juicier if you add a piece of butter or chopped pork fat to the minced meat. Fresh or salted lard or boiled-smoked brisket are suitable.

  • The introduction of additional ingredients into minced meat is strictly individual. You can choose your favorite ones. For example, grated pumpkin or zucchini, chopped cheese or apple. Even an unexpected combination of fresh pineapple puree and garlic can turn ordinary chicken cutlets into an incredible tasting dish.

Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater. Squeeze out the juice.

We will not add raw onion, as it makes the minced meat very liquid. Therefore, chop the onion finely and sauté it in a bowl with a small amount of vegetable oil. We use the “Frying” program for about 5-7 minutes.

Pass the chicken fillet through a meat grinder.

Add squeezed raw potatoes and sautéed onions to it.

Beat in one chicken egg. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and other spices to taste. You can use dry herbs.

Mix the resulting minced chicken thoroughly. Then beat it against the sides of the bowl to obtain a homogeneous mass.

Pour water into the multicooker bowl to the bottom mark or higher. Grease the steamer basket with vegetable oil. With wet hands, form cutlets of the same size as in the photo and place them in a basket. Place over the bowl and close with a lid. Select the “Steam” program in the menu and the cooking time is 30 minutes.

After the signal, carefully remove the basket from the bowl.

The cutlets turned out tasty and juicy. And most importantly, they are dietary - without frying, without bread in the composition.

A method for preparing flavorful chicken cutlets in a steamed slow cooker

Chicken breast is an extremely healthy product for us; due to the almost complete absence of fat and maximum protein content, it dominates among dietary dishes.

In fact, any recipe for cooking meat can be safely replaced with it - and this will not make the taste of the food worse, but it will increase its beneficial properties.

Today we will show. The chicken cutlets will be cooked by steaming, which means that this dish can be served to small children and people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract without fear - the steamed cutlets will literally melt in your mouth.

You can serve them with any side dish - it could be rice or mashed potatoes. When cooking, you can put not only the formed products, but also pieces of vegetables into the steaming bowl.

In order to prepare diet cutlets, you will need the following products:

  • Chicken fillet – 400-500 grams (or 1 chicken breast).
  • Onions – 1 piece.
  • Milk - half a glass.
  • White bread – 4-5 pieces.
  • Chicken egg – 1 piece.
  • Salt and spices as desired.

From the specified amount of ingredients you will get 14 cutlets.

One serving of minced chicken cutlets will contain 150 calories. Not bad, considering that this is almost pure protein - what a growing body or a man tired from work needs! Moreover, the cutlets are dietary, without a drop of oil or fat.

A photo recipe for making minced chicken cutlets is in front of you.

If we use breast, first separate the meat from the bones, cut off the films and fat, as shown in the photo.

Wash the chicken fillet under cold water and let dry on a disposable or cotton towel. The more careful you are with this process, the less watery your products will be.

Then, using a meat grinder or blender, we turn the meat into a pile of minced meat. To make steamed chicken cutlets in a slow cooker more delicate in taste, you can grind the chicken twice.

Step 2

Cut off all the crusts from the white bread, pour in milk and knead the resulting mass with your fingers until smooth. It should resemble liquid porridge.

Leave it like this for 5 minutes.

Now squeeze it slightly to remove excess liquid. Do you want chicken cutlets in a slow cooker to turn out completely dietary? Then you can replace white bread with oatmeal or buckwheat flour, or do without them altogether, adding pre-boiled buckwheat or rice to the minced meat - depending on which cereal you prefer.

Step 3

It is best to grate onions so that individual pieces of onion do not end up in food - few people will like such an unexpected guest in the most delicate soft cutlet!

If desired, you can finely chop the onion and lightly fry it in a frying pan with a drop of vegetable oil. To make it more convenient to distribute it, use a special silicone brush or a disposable towel.

Now we combine the minced meat, grated onion, and soaked bread together.

Beat in one egg and add salt and seasonings to taste. Turmeric, curry, garlic, rosemary, and oregano are ideal for chicken. Or you can use ready-made poultry seasonings.

We knead the mass with our hands, or you can use the services of a meat grinder to obtain a homogeneous mass, without unnecessary inclusions.

On a note: In order for dietary chicken to acquire bright colors, it is recommended to add a little fresh, finely chopped herbs to the minced meat. Also, if you want something juicier, you can change the recipe and add grated cheese to the minced meat (a little, 100-150 grams).

Step 4

We form the diet cutlets with wet hands, placing them immediately in a container for steaming.

The recipe, of course, is very simple to follow, so you have every right to embellish it. For example, you can put a piece of cheese or ham into an already formed minced meat patty. True, in this case they will no longer be dietary.

Open the multicooker bowl and pour in about 1 cup of water. We place a bowl with cutlets on top, and select the “Steam” mode on the multicooker display. Our steamed chicken cutlets will take 25-30 minutes to cook in a slow cooker.

On a note: You can also prepare a side dish for the cutlets - just pour 1 multi-cup of washed rice into the multicooker bowl, and fill with hot water so that it covers approximately one khalange of your finger. Thus, in half an hour you will receive two dishes - steamed chicken cutlets in a slow cooker and aromatic crumbly rice to go with them.

We hope you enjoyed our recipe for making a healthy minced chicken lunch.
