He himself wrote about this in plain text: “Back in 1998, I bought Gazprom shares at a price of 10-15 cents apiece, and by the mid-2000s they had grown in price by 50-100 times.”
At the same time, in that correspondence, he emphasized that at the time of the purchase, he no longer worked in the government of the Russian Federation.
