How to find out the used traffic of a megaphone. How to check traffic on MegaFon? The rest of Internet traffic MegaFon. How to check Internet traffic on MTS: step by step instructions How to find out traffic on a computer for a month

Hello friends! Write about how to monitor traffic I was going right after I wrote the article ““, but somehow forgot. Now I remembered and will tell you about how to track how much traffic you spend, and we will do this with the help of a free program NetWorx.

2. Run the downloaded file and install the program, I will not describe the installation process, I wrote about this in .

3. If after installation the program did not start itself, then we launch it with a shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu.

4. That's it, the program already counts your Internet traffic, it hides in the tray and quietly works for itself there. The working window of the program looks like this:

As you can see, the program displays Internet traffic for the current day and for the entire time, starting from the time you installed the program, you can see how much I burned :). In fact, the program does not need any settings. I'll just tell you how to set a quota in NetWorx, that is, traffic limits and how to make it so that the activity of incoming and outgoing Internet traffic is displayed in the tray icon.

5. Now let's make it so that the activity of Internet traffic is displayed in the tray.

Right-click on the program icon in the tray and select "Settings"

On the “Graph” tab, set it as in my screenshot, click “OK” and “Apply”. The NetWorx tray icon will now display internet connection activity.

6. And the last item in setting up this program will be setting a quota. For example, Intertelecom gives me only 1000 MB per day, so in order not to spend more than this rate, I set up the program so that when I use traffic by 80% it warns me.

Right-click on the program's tray icon and select "Quota".

You see, today I used up my limit by 53%, below there is a field where you can specify at what percentage to report that the traffic is ending. Let's click on the "Settings" button and set up the quota.

Everything is very simple here, first we set what quota you have, for example, I have a daily quota, then we set the traffic, I selected all traffic, that is, incoming and outgoing. Set "Clock" and "Units", I have megabytes. And of course, do not forget to specify the size of the quota, I have 1000 megabytes. Click "OK" and that's it, our quota is set.

That's it, the program is fully configured and ready to read your traffic. It will be launched along with the computer, and you just have to occasionally look in and see for interest how much traffic you have already burned. Good luck!

An urgent problem for owners of tariffs with a limit on the speed or amount of information (as well as USB modems) or "low-speed Internet". It seems that the Internet is there, but the speed is not enough even to open pages on the Internet. If you are used to it and put up with it, then you can continue to ignore it. But still, I think everyone will be interested in what programs or applications use Internet traffic.
By the way, sometimes in this way you can find out and see some unfamiliar process or application that you do not know, and this may be a virus or spyware that sends your data (or monitors your actions) and sends them to someone through the Internet.

You can find out what is eating your Internet traffic in several ways.

1) Through the standard . But there is one big drawback here - only in Windows 8 it shows on the tab Processes in a collumn Net.

In other editions (versions) of "Windows" this is not. More precisely, there is, but there is not what you need.

2) Through and various firewalls that provide .
But here, too, there is a snag - not everyone gives such an opportunity, and there are also paid options. Although I use it and it suits me. Shows, by the way, that he uses the Internet too. Like all firewalls in principle.

3) Through third-party special programs.
I consider this option to be the best and most effective, because it is suitable for all versions of the OS and you do not need to pay, because all programs are free.

The first program to receive universal recognition is TCPView from .

On the positive side, it does not require installation (portable) and takes up little space (284 kb). Of the negative in it, only that it does not have a Russian-language interface. But to understand it will not be difficult.

After running the file, the main window looks like this:

It immediately displays all the programs that use the Internet, with characteristics such as the port used, and others.
In addition, you can save this list to a text file, as well as customize the display.
When you right-click on a process, you can find out the process properties (Process Properties), end it (End Process), close the connection (Close Connection), copy (Copy) and find out what the system thinks about it (Whois ...) (it didn’t work for me )

The second program is NetWorx

It does everything the same as the previous program, namely, it monitors and shows which programs climb into the Internet. The most important and pleasant difference is that it is Russified and has many functions.

After installation and / or launch, the program is minimized to and when you right-click on the icon, the following menu appears:

In fact, the main thing we need is to find out which programs are eating the Internet. It's on the menu Tools - Connections

In it, you can also find out which applications are using and you can end the process by right-clicking on it.

I think the disadvantage is that you cannot find out the properties of the file, and therefore you can only guess what kind of file and where it is located.
Perhaps that is why it includes many functions, such as:
- General statistics, in which you can find out how much is received / sent per day / week / month or from other users (if there are several accounts).
- Graph of the current speed.
- Measure internet connection speed.
- Set up a limit (quota) for the use of Internet traffic. You determine how much you can spend per hour/day/week/month, and then the program will notify you of the limit.
- You can make traces or ping the route. In simple words - write the ip address or url of the site, and the program determines how long it takes to send / receive a response and a request. In general, this is for more advanced users.

Well, that's all there is to it. With the main task, namely how to find out which programs and applications consume the Internet connection, you figured it out and know what to do.

Almost every user of the World Wide Web knows such a thing as Internet traffic. If speak about mobile operators, then they have, the greater the amount of available traffic, the higher the cost. Most operators have tariffs that do not have traffic restrictions, but their cost is significantly higher than that of analogues with restrictions.

Internet for personal computers, which is provided by providers, is most often estimated based on the speed of the Internet.

There are billions of computers on the World Wide Web. Some call servers - they store some information, others connect to these servers in order to receive this information. From this we conclude that computers exchange information with each other.

Data received from other computers is incoming traffic, while the data sent by your PC is outgoing. This category includes messages in VK, audio recordings, videos you uploaded and much more. The unit of measure is gigabyte, megabyte or kilobyte.

Many providers have a so-called "Grid" - this is a place on the network or the Internet organized by the service provider, being in which users can download movies, music and exchange other information, but at the same time consumable fee traffic is not charged. Only users of this particular provider have access to the "Grid".

It often happens that one computer starts sending data to another without the knowledge of the PC owner. This happens when the computer is infected virus. In this case, outgoing traffic is significantly increases. To avoid such unpleasant situations, you need to use antiviruses that track any malicious software and neutralize it, preventing information leakage.

How to find out the spent traffic

There are several ways to find out the amount of traffic used. Let's start with the simplest way.

We use the standard functionality

It gives us the opportunity to find out how much information was received and spent during the current internet session.

On the taskbar, find the icon that displays an active Internet connection.

By clicking on it, you will see list possible connections, you need to choose yours.

Click on it right click.

A window will appear that will display information about the connection duration, Internet speed, sent and received packets (this is traffic).

When you turn off your computer and the connection is lost, the data reset to zero.

If you have multiple accounts on your computer, then you can find out the same data on them. You will need to do the same manipulations.

Third party software

You can use special software to determine outgoing and incoming traffic. Here the choice is huge. We settled on the Networx program.

Very simple, informative, intuitive program.

After installation, it will always be on your taskbar. You can contact her at any time and get all the necessary information.

When you hover your mouse over the icon, the program will show you current internet speed.

If you click on it right click, then a window will pop up.

Clicking on the button statistics, you will receive traffic data, both current and per day, week, month, year, you can view the hourly report.

Traffic on mobile devices

On mobile devices, traffic is consumed much more economical. This is ensured by mobile versions of sites that are optimized specifically for the convenience of users accessing the Internet from gadgets.

The easiest solution to the issue is to install the application. Each provider has developed software for smartphones that reflects the full traffic statistics.

You can also find out the short number (it differs for operators). By sending an SMS to it, you will receive information on traffic in response.

For customers who do not use unlimited tariff plans, the question of how you can check traffic for the Internet will always remain relevant.

The MTS mobile operator allows you to check the balance in several ways, regardless of which phone the check is used on. The mobile operator advises to conduct data verification on an ongoing basis. This will allow you to be online at any time, in addition, it will be possible not to spend money to connect additional services via the Internet. In the material from the article, all the ways will be described on how to find out the spent MTS traffic.

In order to find out the spent traffic, you can use the standard methods through your mobile phone. These operations can be done on any mobile phones, from old to modern. But it should be remembered that due to the algorithm for calculating the consumption of megabytes, the device and the provider are different, so the information may differ slightly. Thus, you can find out the parameters through the phone only for personal purposes, and you cannot check the consumption through the operator. To control the remaining megabytes, you must use any of the methods:

  1. Traffic consumption can be clarified through SMS messages. In order to receive information on the balance, you just need to send an SMS with a question mark. The number to send is quite light and short 5340 . All messages will be free of charge and will not be charged. After the system receives the message, another message will come in response, which will provide information on the spent megabytes, as well as how much more traffic can be spent. This method checks an unlimited number of times.
  2. Another method for checking consumed traffic is to use a service combination. Since there are a lot of options and tariff plans, there are also several requests to check the consumption of megabytes. For example, if users use tariff plans from the Smart family on a SIM card, then it will be necessary to use the command * 100 * 1 # for detailing. After the client has used all the package megabytes, and after connecting additional options, it is necessary to use the combination * 111 * 217 # for control. You can use this service on such options as BIT, Internet mini, maxi, SuperBIT and others. You can also use the combination * 217 # .

Testing on tablet devices

Some tablet devices do not have the ability to send service combinations. Therefore, the owners of such devices have a little more difficulty. For them, you can find out information on the consumption of megabytes only through the use of the Internet. To do this, you need to use your personal account on the website of the MTS operator. Subscribers will need to go to the company's website and go to their personal account. After that, go through authorization, in which you enter your login (mobile phone) and password (comes via SMS through a request on the site). Next, in the office itself, you need to go to the tab with the account status. In the menu, you need to select the rest of the packages and after that you can see all the detailed information on the issue of interest about the expense. Through a personal account, customers can not only find out about the spent traffic, but also fully control the SIM card, connect and disconnect services and tariff plans.

Also, if the tablet device can enter and send requests, then you need to remember a couple of methods:

  1. You can check information on traffic consumption on tariffs from the Smart line by entering the combination * 100 * 1 #.
  2. For options that were connected after the consumption of the main traffic, you should use the combination * 111 * 217 #.
  3. For other mobile applications with traffic, you can find out the consumption by command * 217 #.

Detailing via modem

Through modems from the MTS operator, subscribers can also receive information on the consumption of megabytes. The procedure is similar to the options discussed in the article. The only difference is that the modem does not have a screen, so all information is displayed through the screen of a computer or laptop.

For modems, the provider has made a special program that is installed on the equipment (PC, laptop) after connecting the modem. It is this program that is a tool for management. For example, some devices have the ability to send service requests, similar to those used on phones and tablets. Since the MTS Connect tariff is more often used for the modem, the traffic consumption is checked through the request * 217 #. If it is not possible to register requests on the modem, then it is better to use a personal account on the website of the MTS operator.

Greetings, dear readers! Most likely, you managed to work in Windows 10 for a while on a computer, tablet or laptop, got a little used to the new product from Microsoft, and downloaded many important and useful programs from the Internet. Or not very helpful. And one day you might have thought: what is the amount of traffic I downloaded this month? Interesting? This is where I became interested. And now I'll show you where to find information on Internet usage for the last 30 days.

Let's go to Start -> Settings -> Network and Internet. You can quickly open Settings with Win + I.

In the Network and Internet section on the Data usage tab, you can see general information about all your network interfaces for which the system has accumulated statistics. In this case, I have only one Ethernet (a regular dedicated line via a cable). On tablets and laptops, Wi-Fi statistics will be displayed in this section.

So, you saw the numbers of downloaded gigabytes, your eyes widened and you wanted to know the details immediately. You can find out which applications on your device ate how much traffic by clicking on the Usage Details link.

Clicking on the link will open up more detailed information. You can clearly see which applications consumed the Internet how much. At this point, the data detailing ends, that is, you cannot find out the specific addresses of sites, which files were downloaded.

But that's not all! Information on downloaded gigabytes of invaluable traffic can be displayed as a live tile on the Windows 10 start screen. To do this, right-click on the name of the Data usage section and click on the item Pin to start screen.

A confirmation pops up, click Yes.

The tile will appear on the home screen. If its size does not seem large enough to you, then right-click on the tile and select Resize -> Wide, as shown in the screenshot.

Well, it's become much more convenient, isn't it? Now you can always quickly assess the amount of downloaded data, just by opening the Start menu and glancing at the tile.

If you want to remove the traffic tile, right-click on the tile and select Unpin from Start.

You can unpin a tile from the Network and Internet section in the same way as you pinned it.

What is Internet traffic - check, accounting, where it goes, statistics

New owners of a separate or regional network may not at first attach much importance to counting the traffic that they consume from the global network. But already after receiving the first receipt for Internet services, the user realizes the significance of such an abstract, at first glance, concept as incoming megabytes.

What it is

In simple terms, traffic is the amount of information that a user sends and receives while browsing the Internet. Accordingly, they distinguish between outgoing and incoming traffic.

There are several ways to waste incoming data:

How to find out the spent traffic

A computer user can quickly find out the amount and statistics of traffic consumption using the standard Start menu. Having made the transition to the "Control Panel". Then, by selecting the "Network Connections" option, you can see two icons with the necessary information:

"Main Connection": the window contains data about external traffic. "Local Area Connection" in the open window displays data on the activity of incoming and outgoing data, as well as statistics on the movement of fixed traffic packets. This information only applies to the internal network flow when using local resources.

But standard tools often display inaccurate information, and the values of some indicators can be quite confusing for inexperienced users. Quite easy to use are programs designed to accurately measure traffic (such as NetWorx). Most of them are available for free download.

In special counter programs, a step-by-step adjustment of the work algorithm takes place, which allows you to view the dynamics of incoming data at any time (with an accuracy of a bit), set the warning function for exceeding the limit and track statistics for a week, month, year.

Measuring data consumption is no less important for Android, whose users are online almost around the clock. The fastest way to set control is to set the "Traffic Control" option in the standard menu. It is possible to set individual restrictions on the acceptance of data via Wi-Fi or a mobile network, their transmission can be turned off altogether.

Special applications (such as Data Usage or Internet Speed Meter Lite) are designed not only to record, but also to save a limited amount of information. The Android user independently creates a consumption display template, setting the desired length of time, warnings about exceeding the norm.

For example, Data Usage controls the transmitted units of information, both through a mobile and Wi-Fi network (which is relevant for frequent users of the public Internet, which have a limit on free access). Restrictions can be enabled on a per-network basis.

Ways to save

Android users can prevent device applications from accessing the internet on their own. Updates should only be installed with the consent of the user. But canceling auto-synchronization may adversely affect the operation of some standard programs (weather forecast or mail agent).

As mentioned above, each user on a separate line needs to either install a counter program, or at least know where this information can be found in the standard menu.

It is better to start economical use of the Internet on a computer by cleaning up overly active programs. The Process Hacker application scans the computer in working mode and helps the user to eliminate the "eaters" of traffic on their own.

Photo: Scanning Firewall programs

System programs cause damage to traffic by automatic calls. You can control their activity using the free firewall Firewall, which controls the flow of information and blocks programs from unwanted access to the Network.

Determining where precious megabytes go is half the battle. The rational use of all the services of the global network should become a habit. Programs like uTorrent.exe should not run at startup and run idle.

How is Internet traffic measured?

The smallest unit of measurement of the received information is Bit. Depending on the situation and the volume consumed, the consumed data can be counted in Bytes, Kilobytes, Megabytes. The most common unit is Megabyte (MB).

Average sizes of the most popular files:

  • three dozen pages on the Web or 400 text pages: 1 Mb;
  • 5 high quality photos: 1 Mb;
  • one audio file: 3-12 Mb;
  • one video clip: 30-200Mb, movie: 600-1400Mb.

In conclusion, it should be said that the control and calculation of Internet traffic allows not only to avoid the need to pay inflated bills, but also to significantly save money without limiting yourself in using the Internet.

How to track internet traffic

How often do PC users complain about the low speed of the Internet connection and providers. However, network traffic is often consumed by other resources. How to determine them and find out where the speed disappears, we learn in this article.

There are several ways to find out what is consuming your traffic.

The first way is to use the task manager

Press "Ctrl+Alt+Del". Go to the "Processes" tab. We look in the "Network" section, which program consumes traffic. (Available for Windows 7 and above).

The second way is to use special programs

Download free TCPView. It does not require installation. Open the archive and run the application.

In the "PID" section, we look at which program consumes resources.

Also, if you right-click on the process, a set of functions will appear. Process Properties - process properties, End Process - end the process, Copy - copy, Close Connection - close the connection, Whois - what the system advises.

The third way is to use Windows OS components

Click Start, Control Panel.

For Windows XP. Open the Security Center.

Click "Auto Update".

In the new window, put a mark next to "Disable" and "OK".

For Windows 7. Open Windows Update.

Click "Settings".

Check the box "Do not check for updates".

Programs and system elements will not access the network. However, so that the service does not turn back on, we perform the following steps (acceptable for Windows XP Windows 7).

In the "Control Panel" go to the "Administration" section.

We are looking for "Security Center" or "Windows Update". Click "Disable Service".

The fourth way is to control the antivirus program

The new version of Nod 32 has an additional feature - traffic control. Launch ESET NOD32 Smart Security 5 or higher. Go to the "Utilities" section and select "Network Connections".

We close browsers and look at the list of programs and elements that consume Internet resources. Opposite the name of the software, the connection and data transfer speed will also be displayed.

In order to restrict the program's access to the network, right-click on the process and select "Temporarily disable network connection for the process."

Internet connection speed will increase.

How to control traffic

Traffic consumption is primarily interested in users who are deprived of the opportunity to connect unlimited Internet. Traffic is controlled by special programs or using the capabilities of Windows.

Windows 8 allows you to control traffic without the use of additional programs. To activate the traffic counter, find the network connection icon on the taskbar. After clicking on the icon, the "Networks" window will open. Select the active connection and right-click. In the window that appears, in the first line you will see "Display information about the intended use." Activate this item and in the future, when you open the "Networks" window, you will see the statistics of the volumes used.

In earlier Windows products - 7 or XP, the process of checking traffic is performed a little differently. After connecting to the Internet, also left-click on the connection icon and select the active network. Use the right button to navigate to "Status". Here you will see the amount of incoming and outgoing traffic, which is shown in bytes.

You can control traffic using the free program Networx 5.3.2. The program supports any type of connection - wired, cable, mobile Internet. Networx shows incoming and outgoing traffic. You can view statistics for the period you are interested in, as well as control the speed of the Internet connection. The program allows you to check how much traffic each application consumes.

The Networx program starts counting your Internet traffic from the moment you install it. You can configure the program so that traffic activity is visible in the tray icon. Through the settings, open the "Traffic" tab, then check the necessary options, as shown in the photo, and save the completed actions.

You can also set a quota. To do this, select the type of quota, traffic, hours and units of measurement. After setting the quota size, click on OK. When the traffic consumption approaches the limit threshold, the program will warn you about it. This will avoid traffic overruns.

Traffic control on mobile devices depends on the system of the device. For example, the Android system is able to count incoming and outgoing traffic. To do this, select the “Data transfer” item in the settings and select a telecom operator. You will see a window where the data of incoming and outgoing traffic will be displayed. In addition to checking the volume, you can set a limit on the use of traffic.

Control over traffic consumption will help to avoid unnecessary expenses. Even if you use unlimited Internet, periodically check your network activity. A sharp increase in traffic consumption indicates that a virus or Trojan has settled in the system.

NetWorx: How to Monitor Internet Traffic

Hello friends! I was going to write about how to monitor traffic right after I wrote the article “How to save Internet traffic”, but somehow I forgot. Now I remembered and will tell you about how to track how much traffic you spend, and we will do this with the help of the free NetWorx program.

You know, when unlimited Internet is connected, then you don’t really need to monitor the traffic, except for the sake of interest. Yes, now all urban networks are usually unlimited, which cannot be said about 3G Internet, the tariffs of which usually go off scale. All this summer I have been using CDMA Internet from Intertelecom, and I know all these nuances with traffic and tariffs firsthand. I already wrote about how to set up and improve the Internet from Intertelecom, read here and here. So, their “unlimited” tariff costs 150 hryvnia per month. As you can see, I put the word unlimited in quotation marks, why? Yes, because there is a speed limit, though only during the day, but there is nothing to rejoice at, the speed there is simply terrible, it is better to use GPRS already.

The most normal tariff is 5 hryvnia per day upon connection, that is, if you do not connect today, you do not pay. But it's not unlimited, it's 1000 megabytes a day, until 12 midnight. I have this tariff now, but at least it has a decent speed, the real average speed is 200 Kbps. But 1000 Mb per day is not very much at such a speed, so in this case it is simply necessary to control the traffic. Moreover, after using this 1000 MB, the cost of one megabyte is 10 kopecks, which is not a little.

Even as soon as I connected this Internet, I started looking for a pretty program that would control my Internet traffic and I could set a warning when the limit was used up. And I found it, of course, not immediately, after trying a couple of things, I came across the NetWorx program. Which we will continue to talk about.

NetWorx will monitor the traffic

Now I will tell you where to get the programs and how to set it up.

1. Whatever you are looking for the program, I uploaded it to my hosting, so download it via a direct link.

2. Run the downloaded file and install the program, I will not describe the installation process, I wrote about it here.

3. If after installation the program did not start itself, then we launch it with a shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu.
