The servant promised to carry out the master's order. He went to the market, hiding a knife under his sleeve. He waited until the crowd thickened, quietly stabbed the girl and ran away.
After the servant returned home, Wei Gu asked if his request had been fulfilled. The servant told how it all happened.
Years passed. The young man proposed to girls and still received refusals. Another fourteen years have passed. Wei Gu had long forgotten about the old man’s prediction. Thanks to his father's connections, he was transferred to another city to serve in the police with Mr. Wang Tai. The young man fell in love with the master's daughter and asked for her hand.
